It's been two weeks since everything happened with Athena and Jace. She was currently just taking time out for herself and in a space where she didn't need anyone clouding her judgement so she took a trip outside of the country a day after everything happened and didn't tell anyone where she was going.
Besides sending her family an 'I'm okay' text. She wasn't really communicating with them and she felt like it was needed. She was finding her love for reading again, she was enjoying nature walks, the beach, she even started taking pictures and they surprisingly came out good like she was always a professional in the craft.
Turks and Caicos was a beautiful place and she knew that she had to visit again with the love of her life. The true love of her life so she could experience her soft girl era while being genuinely love.
The time spent here was self reflecting and looking back on the past few years about how sneaky Jace really was and she'd turned a blind eye to it all. He made jokes about her reading, jokes that she didn't find funny and stopped reading. He told her that the things she wanted to do outside like taking midnight walks on the beach was corny to him. A simple sip and paint as a date night was even considered gay.
It was comical really, she would've taken Jace cheating on her with a man any day over him creating a family with someone else while lying about trying to create one with her.
Lying was too much to keep up with so she always tried to tell the truth and if a question was never asked then the truth would've never been told from her. She wasn't saying that she was innocent in their fake marriage because she obviously did her shit on the side as well but his own trumped hers.
He had tried reaching out to her but she blocked his number and told her lawyer that she didn't want to hear anything that he had to say because she wasn't the least bit interested in finding out more lies about why he did what he did because there would simply be no reasonable explanation.
The law firm tried begging her to stay and tried bribing her with partner but even that was a bust. They had wasted their time trying and they didn't even know it which made her laugh.
Although, the things that he did broke her, she wished him nothing but the best for him and his family and she meant that from the bottom of her heart and part of what happened was her fault. She stayed with Jace even when somewhere deep down she knew it wasn't where she wanted to be anymore.
Her faith with God had gotten stronger again, she was praying more, reading her Bible and having her daily worships which she considered her me time.
God wasn't the center of her relationship with Jace and she knew that that played a role in their downfall. She always told herself that she wanted a God fearing man but Jace rarely talked about God if ever.
