Jace was walking out of his office when he saw Athena swiftly turned the other way to go around to her office. She had called out of the office the whole of last week and she had yet to return home.

He was sending her text messages, calling her and he even went as far as emailing her but he never received a response. No matter how mad she had gotten at him in the past, she never went this extreme and stopped talking to him let alone seeing him.

All of this could've been avoided if he had just been honest with her about how he felt but when Athena's mind was made up about something, there was no changing it.

He was well into where he wanted to be in life. Gorgeous wife and partner at the firm. He couldn't have been any happier, however, he did understand his wife's frustrations with him deceiving her but he was eventually going to start having sex with her raw again after Lisa joined the firm permanently.

The reason he was so busy at work was because he was trying his hardest to get Lisa to sign with them and he didn't need any distractions like Athena being pregnant at the moment so he started sneaking condoms on when she was deep into the sex without her noticing but now that Lisa was officially a partner. He was going to stop wearing them but with Athena being upset with him, he wasn't sure how long it would take for her to get over her anger even if it was justifiable.

On the other side of the office, Athena took a sip of her cappuccino and rubbed her eyes. She was extremely tired, the week off from work she spent her days at Niamis house and her nights at the club stripping and brining in a bag of money that she hid in the trunk of her car.

Due to her being angry at Jace, she was also taking her anger out on Remy. He had been calling and texting her but she didn't have the energy to entertain him.

Was she wrong for ignoring him? Yes, especially since he wasn't the cause of her anger but her trust in people or men per say had once again been taken advantage of and she was afraid. Afraid that if she continued to let Remy in he would cause her the same pain that her biological father caused her and the same pain that Jace was now causing her.

None of them ever stuck to their word and actually meant it and she knew that she suffered from abandonment issues and giving people reason to leave her because in the end, she believed that's what they will always do when it came to her.

Present to her false hopes and dreams just to snatch it all back. Her heart breaking into tiny pieces and no one to realize the ache that she felt within. The gap in her heart that felt unfixable and the hurt that was starting to feel beyond repairable.

Soft knocking at her office door made her look up from the top of her eyes and she inwardly sighed without acknowledging his presence. "I've been worried sick about you Nana. Where are you staying? How are you? Are you eating?" Jace rambled on question after question.
