Emily's P.O.V
Emily was at a bar, ordering yet another shot of vodka when the seat next to her became occupied. Though the aura of this companion was familiar, Emily kept her gaze on the dull wooden wall in front of her. "You know," she said in a bored tone, "I thought letting myself free would be more fun."
A low laugh reverberated beside her. "That's because you haven't partied yet, beautiful. Trust me, parties make everything better."
In one quick swig, Emily downed the rest of her drink and turned to her friend. Her eyes widened when she recognised those big brown eyes. "Enzo?"
"Who else did you think it was? The Fairy Godmother?" Enzo raised a brow before turning to the bartender and ordering two more vodkas for them.
"Well... no... I just wasn't expecting... you..."
Enzo returned his gaze to her. His eyes scanned her face. "Sorry to disappoint."
"No! No, you didn't..." She sighs and eagerly accepts the next drink handed to her. Once she downs this one, she turns back to Enzo. "So, have you come to spy on me? Well, now it's my turn to disappoint because I haven't hurt anybody. Bloody Emily won't let me..." She slams the empty glass onto the table so forcefully that it shatters upon contact.
Enzo shakes his head at the bartender as if warning him off then turns back to the demoness. "Is that why you're so bored? You know, I did wonder... We all thought we'd be hearing about a massacre so horrific people would be traumatised forever. Which, in Mystic Falls, is saying a lot."
"Yeah, well... Like I said, I would if I could." Emily turned to the frightened bartender and ordered another drink. Though clearly terrified, he poured her another glass without any problems. "But I have heard people are missing." She said before gulping down that drink as well. "I assume that's Caroline and Stefan?"
Enzo shrugged and chugged down his own drink. "Yep. But I heard Stefan's got his humanity back and now he's trying to hunt down Caroline-"
The demoness turned to the vampire with a blank expression, "I think you're mistaking me for someone who cares, Enzo," she said, quickly flashing him an obviously fake smile.
He laughed. "Ah, but you do, beautiful. If you didn't, you wouldn't be here right now drowning your sorrows with vodka." He shook his empty cup as a gesture. "Emily really has taken control, hasn't she?"
"Emily is not in control. She's nothing more than a human vessel." Narrowing her eyes at the vampire, Emily suddenly smirked mischievously. "You know, maybe I should test that theory. Perhaps I should visit Sarah Salvatore?"
Enzo's eyes widened as he started to speak, "I don't know-"
She scoffed and gave him a disappointed look. "Don't think I don't know what you've been up to, Enzo. Just be thankful I haven't told Stefan. Now if you'll excuse me, I've grown rather bored of this conversation." She stood from her stool, threw a wad of cash onto the counter, and began to strut away.
Before she could leave the bar, Enzo called out to her. "You know, you aren't as evil as you may think you are! And I'm not the only one who has secretive feelings, Emily. Does the name Kai ring any bells?"
Emily stopped in her tracks and grit her teeth. Stupid human feelings. She cursed to herself under her breath, rolled her eyes and strode back to the triumphantly smiling Enzo. "You know nothing of what I'm feeling, Enzo." Suddenly, she grabbed the front of his shirt and hoisted him up out of the chair to bring his face closer to hers. "And don't you dare bring his name-"
"Woah, Woah, hey!" A meek, wavering voice interrupts the two creatures, and they turn to look at the bartender whose eyes glance between them nervously. "If you're going to have a lover's quarrel, could you take it outside?"
