Enzo began to walk away from the Salvatore boarding house when he suddenly remembered a certain night out and a certain girl. "Hey, Bonnie, you haven't seen Emily, have you?" he asked, looking at her expectantly. "You must have seen her at some point. Especially here since it's where she lives."
"Nope." Bonnie shook her head, her gaze drifting off into the distance as if she were thinking. When she brought her gaze back to the vampire, she raised a brow at him. "Why do you wanna know?"
"Oh, I don't know. Maybe because I was supposed to be babysitting her? Or maybe it's because we slept together? Or maybe it's because when I found her leaving the room after that night, she then snapped my neck?" Enzo shrugged mockingly. "It's nothing serious, love, it's just personal. Though, I'm sure there was a connect-"
"You and she did what?" Bonnie's jaw dropped.
Enzo's face broke into a mischievous smile, "Ah, guessing you haven't seen her then. I mean if you had she would've told you, right? You are best friends, are not? Or is that not what you do nowadays?" Enzo couldn't hide his arrogance. He loved this power he had over Bonnie. It was a moment to relish in.
He wasn't the only one to realise the power shift. Bonnie could feel herself weaken slightly as if she'd been punched in the gut. Emily is one of her best friends, so why did she not mention this? Perhaps because it wasn't Emily in charge. Bonnie did have a feeling that something wasn't right with Emily.
"No... she didn't tell me that," Bonnie said. "But yes, I have seen her." Mockingly, Bonnie put a hand to her chin. "In fact, last I saw her, she left here to be with Kai in the prison world. She didn't tell you? I thought you had a 'connection'," she retorted, smirking when Enzo's confident demeanour disappeared in an instant. She'd struck a nerve.
"Well, when you see her-"
"If," Bonnie interrupted.
Enzo sighed, "If you see her again, would you tell her that I need to see her. She and I have some unfinished business. Goodbye Bonnie," he said curtly before striding to his car, getting in and driving off into the distance.
Bonnie watched him go, her arms crossed angrily over her chest. Oh, Emily. Looks like you're gathering quite the mob. Let's hope, for your sake, that you don't return from the prison world at all...

Kai and Emily lay on the bed, the woman's head rested on the man's chest that heaved with every relaxed breath. Kai's hand was entangled in Emily's black hair, playing with the voluminous locks. Meanwhile, Emily's eyes were shut, and her arm was wrapped around Kai's waist underneath the bedsheets.
"So, Emily, how come letting the Devil's daughter go didn't work?" he asked, gaining the attention of his sleeping beauty.
Her eyes slowly opened, and she moved her head to look up at him. "Why do you ask?"
Kai shrugged, "Just curious," he replied, perhaps slightly too quickly.
Luckily, the demon paid no mind to his suspiciously rushed answer and moved herself to a better position. While the hand on his waist stayed there, she placed the other underneath her head and rested it upon her elbow, so she lay on her side, gazing at her beloved. Kai moved his head so that he could look up at her easily.
"You know, I'm not entirely sure but I think it's because I became too human." Seeing Kai's face furrow in confusion, she continued, "Okay, let me explain. So, this body you see before you is a vessel. A disguise according to her. The demon inside me that is. But the more time this vessel spends on the surface, the more human it... I become. So, if I spend enough time on the surface like this. Emily becomes her own person, with feelings and a personality. Think Jekyll and Hyde but female and way sexier." She chuckled.
Did you just compare me to Hyde? How dare you.
Kai joined in for a little while before he took her hand in his and began to play with her fingers. "I think I understand," he said, frowning slightly. "So, correct me if I'm wrong, but let's say this body was killed. Does that mean the demon, the Devil's daughter, would be free?"
The demon nodded, "Yep. At least, I think that's how it works. I'd rather not test that theory." She chuckled again and gave Kai an innocent, sweet, loving smile. "So, what's the plan now? Because I'm quite happy staying here." As she said this, Emily snuggled back up to Kai and wrapped herself around him.
Kai allowed himself to be enveloped because it gave him ample opportunity to utter a small spell and make a knife appear in his hands. He sighed and kissed Emily on the forehead before whispering into her ear, "I'm sorry, Emily. I truly did love you."
Emily opened her mouth to speak but she was cut off when Kai plunged the knife into her back and straight through to where her heart beat against her chest for him. As the life drained from Emily's already blackened eyes, Kai wiped a tear away from his cheek. "It's nothing personal. It's just I need the demon by my side more than I need you."
With a final gasp of breath, Emily's lifeless body fell limp on top of Kai's. He awkwardly shoved it away and stood from the bed, gathering his clothes and redressing quickly. As he opened the door to leave, a sudden chill seeped into him and an eerie voice echoed around the room.
"Finally, I'm free..."
--------------------------------------------
"I was going to wait to the 'death do us part' bit, but it seemed a little on the nose," Kai said mischievously after revealing himself behind Jo. "Am I right?" he continued, turning to the entryway and smiling devilishly. "Hey, demon princess, you can come out now."
Emily appeared around the corner, but it was not the Emily those people knew. This Emily was known only to Bonnie and it was not Emily. It was a creature of nightmare. A demonic image representing the very beast that created it: The Devil.
The claws of its talons tapped on the wood as it ambled down the aisle. Its tail and large wings collided with the guests, scratching everything they came into contact with. As Kai's father stood to confront the demon, Kai tutted and raised his hand in the air. Suddenly, everyone clutched their heads in agony. They could do nothing and so the demon strode through the aisle unharmed.
Once it reached Kai, it opened a wing and curled it protectively around the witch. Then, its skeletal face mimicked the man beside it and curled into a wicked smirk.
"Miss us?" he asked, looking out at the guests expectantly. When no-one said anything, he turned to the demon with a frown.
"I don't think they did, babe," it responded. The word babe seemed unnatural coming out of such a hideous beast and yet Kai was not phased by it. He was only affected by the lack of respect.
"Oh, well, in that case..." Kai lifted one hand in which he held the knife dripping with Jo's blood. Once it was in the air, the windows in the building exploded with a flurry of shattered glass. It knocked everyone on the stage off their feet except him and the demon who had shielded him from the razor-sharp fragments with her wings.
After the chaos had ended, the demoness re-opened her wings and looked to Kai before laughing hysterically. Coming from a skeletal beast, the laugh was daunting and eerie like a little girl's cackle heard in the dead of night.
Kai wasn't affected by it though. Instead, he relished the psychotic nature of his newfound partner in crime. With such a powerful demon by his side, he was unstoppable. Nothing would dare touch him for fear of enraging the beast. And yet, even in this blissful moment, his heart ached. He longed to be somewhere else, to be with someone else. He longed for the woman he loved. He longed for the woman he killed.
Oh, Emily... What have I done?
