Erin taps Danny on the shoulder.
Danny wakes up quickly.
The doctor is talking to Frank. "Shell be okay, her family is in with her. You can see her after them. She is mostly concious, but tired."
Frank smiles.
Danny sits up straighter, grinning.
"Youre feeling better?" Erin asks Maria.
Maria is lying in the hospital bed, with drips attatched to her. She is pale but awake now.
"Yeah, a good bit," she replies.
The Reagans are gathered around the bed.
Danny watches her talking to his family, anwering their many worried questions.
Eventually the doctor comes in and tells them to give Maria a break. "She needs to get some space,"
As his family clears out, Danny stays.
"Hey," he says softly.
"Hi," she replies, smiling.
He sits down in a chair beside the bed. "Can i say something honest?"
"Yeah of course,"
"You were one of the best partners Ive ever had. You got shot today." He stops. "I thought i had lost you,"
Maria closes her eyes.
"The job put you at that risk. I put you at that risk."
She glances at him.
"Never let me leave you again."
"Okay," she says. "Me too."
"Ill let you go back to sleep," he says, gettting up to go.
She nods and leans back.
As he goes he looks back.
"I love you too,"
She smiles to herself.
