•If you know me, you know I have a little bit of a problem with my previous favorite case: the Assassination of Gianni Versace. Andrew Cunanan was one of the most enjoyable killers that I have ever researched. While it was never confirmed, psychiatrists think that he had either Antisocial Personality Disorder or Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
•ASPD is a dangerous disorder because it is so hard to catch. It's so hard to know if somebody has it. Symptoms start to appear at an adolescent age, so parents should really be looking out.
•People with ASPD are sometimes referred to as sociopaths or psychopaths. I cover the differences between psychopathy and sociopathy in an introductory chapter. I also cover psychopathy more fully in the later chapter, titled "Psychopathy".
SYMPTOMS:
Symptoms of Antisocial Personality Disorder include disregard or violation of the rights of others, illegal acts, repeated lying, conning others, impulsivity, irritability, aggressiveness, consistent irresponsibility, lack of remorse, issues holding a job/relationship, and unlawfulness.
TREATMENT:
Treatment for Antisocial Personality Disorder consists of medication and therapy. If left untreated, it could lead to substance abuse, suicidal behaviors, or lawlessness or imprisonment.
