•Depression is an umbrella term. There are several different types of Depression, one of which is included in the slide below.
•Depression and Anxiety are arguably the most commonly diagnosed mental illnesses. Depression is a mood disorder. It is diagnosed in levels, involving clinical and major depressive disorders.
•Cases of Depression or Depressive disorders have reasonably similar symptoms that are reappearing and in some cases are influx, meaning they repeat in a specific pattern, such as seasonal Depression or Bipolar Depressive Disorder. Cases of Depression have definitely spiked in recent years. Suicide caused by cases of Depression is a leading cause of death in the United States and many other countries.
SYMPTOMS:
Symptoms of Depression include a persistent feeling of sadness or hopelessness, suicidal thoughts, loss of interest in tasks that are usually enjoyable or easy, difficulty completing everyday tasks, a feeling of emptiness, irritability or frustration at small things, becoming dirty or living in a dirty environment, etc.
TREATMENT:
Treatment of Depression consists of psychotherapy and medication if necessary. If left untreated it can lead to substance abuse, physical infections or other health issues, suicidal thoughts or actions, etc.
