Chapter 08 - Competition Started

Nanon's POV

Today is Monday, the last week of the school. This week is important for all of us. This is our last event of the semester before going on a break. The most important event of the year. I got super excited. All the nine leaders stood on the stage at the auditorium, our never seen before photos from the photoshoot hung on the wall behind us. Mr.A led the ceremony. 

"Welcome everyone to our last ceremony before the semester break. This is the most important week for us, cause here, at GMM Academy, we have a tradition. Once a year, there is going to be a competition held for the Leaders. No, this is not a normal competition cause they're going to get divided into two teams and fight each other in a team battle. And, this year's leaders are..... Bluuue and Reeed....!!!" Everybody cheered. P'Bright and p'Namtan stepped forward and waved to the crowds. "Now, as usual, since there are nine houses, one team is going to get five houses, and the other is going to get only four. Now, to make it fair, just like last year, the grey house is going to get bundled with the green house. So, whoever picked the green house, is also going to get the grey house." I kept a straight face, but inside, I died a little. I wanted to get picked because I'm capable, not because I got bundled with other house.

"Now, let's do some coin toss, head or tail?" He asked them. "Head." P'Bright chose head. "Tail" p'Namtan chose tail. They tossed the coin. "Head it is. Now, blue, choose one house for your team." P'Bright thought for one or two seconds. "I choose..." he rubbed his chin. "I choose my best friends, green house and grey house." He moved the emblems to his side. Everyone was so shocked with his choice, including me. Never have I ever thought in my life that I'm going to get chosen first. Bundled or not, we usually got picked last. P'Earth offered his hand to me. I took it and we walked to p'Bright's side of the team. "Next, red, please choose one house." P'Namtan walked to the emblems. She thought for a minute. "I choose... brown house." She moved the emblems to her side. Ohm confidently walked to her side. "Blue, you can choose one house." P'Bright smiled. "I choose pink." Again, a very jaw dropping decision. P'Tay walked to our side, high fived p'Earth and ruffled my hair. "Red, your turn to choose one house." P'Namtan thought again. "I choose yellow house." P'Milk walked to p'Namtan's side and high fived Ohm. "Okay, there are only two houses left. Blue, make your choice." "I choose... sky blue house." P'Win walked to us. "Red, your final choice is..." "purple." P'Namtan said. Mix walked to their side. He kept a straight face, but if I know Mix, I think right now he thought about poisoning us all because he got picked last.

"Now, you already know that you won't fight alone. All of your right hand man are going to fight along side you guys." Our right hand man came to the stage to join us. Everybody cheered again. Mr.A made a gesture to calm everybody down. "Now, this year's competition is Capture the Flag. The one who captured the opponent's flag first is going to win. But not so easy, because you can only capture the flag after you eliminate 50% of the opposing team. So green, please don't eliminate your teammate like last year's game." Everyone laughed. I knew what he was talking about. I looked back at last year's game. I was still a freshman at that time, and the right hand man at the Grey house. 

"All players ready?" The referee made a gesture. "Get set..... GO....!!" The competition started. I was about to start running, when suddenly, someone unplugged my suit, eliminating me. I turned around. P'Earth, and p'Luke, my leader at the time, unplugged my suit. How can they did this to me. "P'Earth, why?" I was in disbelieved. Everyone looked at us in shock, including our opponents. They didn't even attack us. They stopped and asked us what happened. "We don't want you to get hurt. That's why we decided to eliminate you." He winked. The audience and the other players (including the opponents) "aaawed". What the fuck. The other players laughed while I exited the arena. That was humiliating as hell. I looked at the score board on my way out.
