Chapter 26 - PowED Reaction

Two Weeks Before Graduation...

Mix's POV

It was supposed to work, but it didn't. I made sure that the drug was safe before giving it to Chimon, but it has no effect at all. The power stopped for a few seconds, and then came back like nothing ever happened. In the end, Chimon still has his power, and he still hates it very much. "Mix, please, help me get rid of this power." He begged me. "Believe me, I'm trying. But something is off. Something is not right." I thought so hard. And then I remember something. Something about mr.A saying how the sins wanted Nanon's power. That maybe Nanon's power can help lowering the chance of the user's dying. Maybe I can try that method. I discussed it with mr.Nammon, and he said it is a brilliant idea. I called Nanon, asking him to come to the purple house. I gave him a one time pass, along with Ohm. I also invited mr.A to discuss the matter. They arrived an hour later.

Ohm's POV

"You wanted to do what?" I asked Mix, making sure he's still on his right mind. "I want to use Nanon's DNA to create the power cancelling drugs. Now, listen to my explanation first before you say no." He made a gesture with his hands. We all nodded. "The drugs is almost ready, but there is this one substance, the extract of dawn flowers... I need them in higher dose. But the problem is, this substance is very dangerous, even giving it on small dose could cause someone to collapse. Now, this is where Nanon's DNA came in handy. I remember mr.A told us about how the sins wanted Nanon's power to create the perfect PowOn. So, why don't we perfect our drugs by doing the same method? It's not like we're going to kill him. I just need some blood from him, that's all. Simple as that." He tried to convince us. "Mix, if you mix Nanon's DNA into the drugs, will it cause a problem in the future?" Mr.A asked. "From my calculation, everything is gonna be just fine. No need to worry about the future." He gave us two thumbs up. "Okay, I'll do it." Nanon gave him the green light. "But..." I tried to protest but Nanon shook his head. "If my blood can end this matter once and for all, I'll happily do it." He nodded to Mix. Mix nodded back, and he started taking Nanon's blood. 

We were on our way back. "Ohm, you've been awfully quiet." He broke the silent between us. "Well... I..." I searched for the right words. "I still don't think that is a good idea, what you guys did." I frowned. "And why is that?" He frowned too. "For example, what if instead of eliminating the power, they got your power instead? Like, they got your healing power. That one is on top of my head. I don't want us to accidently create another problem." I told him. "Don't worry, Mix said it's 100% safe." Nanon tried to convince me. "I hope so." I raised my shoulders. 

Mix's POV

I tried making the new drugs, the improved version. This one hopefully will work fine. I tried giving some to guinea pigs, the literal ones. It convulsed, then a few minutes later it came back to life. I tried making some minor adjustments to the drugs, and tested it again. It still worked. Yes. I'm so excited right now. I called Chimon and asked him to come to the Purple house. He arrived half hour later. He's not alone though. He arrived with that new Brown guy, also a victim of PowOn. I let them in. "Chimon, I have some good news and bad news for you." I told him. "Hmm, the good news is, the drugs is ready..." He looked so excited. "Really? Can I try it now?" He literally jumped out of his seat. "Wait. I'm not done." I stopped him. "The bad news is, I really have no idea how the drugs is going to turn out. I tried it on some guinea pigs, and they're all alive and healthy." I showed the guinea pigs to him, and all of them are still alive. "See, this one even got fatter after drinking the drugs." I pointed to one brown guinea pig. "It's okay. I'll take the risk." He looked so happy. "Chimon... please think this through." The brown guy stopped him. "Don't worry Perth, I'll be okay." He tried to convince his friend. Perth frowned. He thought for a second. He turned to me. "Mix, test the drugs on me first." He suddenly said. "But... No. You don't have to do that." Chimon got upset. "I don't have to. I want to." This turned into a lovers quarrel. I need to think of a way to stop them. "Unfortunately, you can't." They turned to me at the same time. "Even if you want to, you can't. You need a permission from your leader and the headmaster." I gave my reason. "Call them, then. Call them and ask them for permission." He won't back down. I sighed and called Ohm and mr.A. They approved, so there's nothing more I can do. I gave him the paperworks, and he signed it without even reading it first. I gave him the drugs. "Perth, are you sure? This is not your battle to fight." Chimon asked him. He looked worried. "I'm sure. Your battle is my battle." He smiled and rubbed Chimon's cheek. He took a long deep breath, and drank the drugs in one go. He started convulsing. Chimon clutched his hands. He stopped convulsing after a minute. I held my breath. Chimon held his breath. Will it work? Come on. Please work. Please. Don't die on me. I was on the edge of my seat.
