After cleaning themselves up, Kate was far too spent to even consider the complications of their actions, leaving Johnny to take charge, both still naked he pulled the bed sheets up and around them as he put his arm around the woman. Kate snuggled into Johnny and rested her head on his chest, she could barely keep her eyes open and gave in to sleep as he kissed her head.

Johnny woke up in the middle of the night. He felt peculiar, he opened his eyes and couldn't work out for a moment where he was, then he remembered the night before, the mind blowing sex with the incredible woman in his arms. Kate hadn't moved from the position she fell asleep in, her head still rested in the nook where his shoulder ended and his chest began. She seemed fairly content and still asleep so he left her be. It felt rather nice to him. It had been a while since he had a woman in his arms. His mind was racing, this would change things massively wouldn't it? She had such a bad start to relationships so why did she trust him, he couldn't help but wonder if it was because of who he was or what he did? He laid there desperately trying to work out a rational answer but couldn't.

At around 6:15am, the loud cries of Belle could be heard throughout the house. Kate sat up startled, not only was this fairly early for Belle but the woman was confused as to where she was, her surroundings were not that familiar, then she remembered. She was at Johnny's, and not just staying at his house, she was in bed with him after incredible sex last night. She gasped as she turned and saw him still fast asleep beside her. He was almost face down and had an arm slung across her which she reluctantly moved to try and climb out of the bed quietly to comfort her daughter. They had slept naked last night and she couldn't find her dress anywhere, she was sure Johnny threw it off the bed in the height of the passion but now all she saw was her underwear. With Belle's cries getting louder she decided to don the underwear and grab the nearest thing which happened to be Johnny's paint covered shirt. It fitted as good as a dress and Kate snuck out the bedroom.

She wandered into the other guest room where a travel cot had been set up, Belle was stood at the end with her chunky hands gripping the sides. "Mumma's here it's ok." Kate lent down to pick up her daughter, she kissed her and made a fuss and that soon settled the two year old. "It's ok little one, it's ok." She repeated as Belle's tears began to fade. Eventually Belle was content enough that Kate could stop the pacing and sit on the edge of the double bed that was in the room. She held her daughter in her arms, and looked at her. "You won't tell anyone a secret will you?" She said to her daughter. A lot of the time Kate had taken to talking to herself but disguising it as telling Belle a secret, it didn't feel as lame to her that way.

"Mumma did something so silly. She slept with a client, and I don't mean just a sleepover, I mean full on slept with. That goes against every code in the book." Kate sighed and closed her eyes in despair. One silly little moment of pleasure had just cost her significantly professionally. "Mumma is now gonna have a shed load of work after the holiday, I'll have to brief somebody else up on Johnny's file, and if word spreads that I just put out for clients I'll be in major major trouble. We might be retiring to the lake sooner than we thought Belle." "There you are." Johnny said from the doorway startling her. Just how much of that had he heard? "Sorry did she wake you?" Kate said quietly. "No no, the cold bed did though." Kate bit her lip. "Sorry." She didn't know exactly what she was apologising for but it felt like the right thing to say in the moment. "No need to apologise. She needed you. You're a good mother, anyone can tell that. What upset her?" Johnny asked. Kate realised he hadn't quite grasped her meaning of the apology but decided to let it go for now. "Oh I'm not sure I think maybe she just woke up and maybe wasn't used to the surroundings so it scared her maybe? Usually when she wakes she plays in her cot for a while before getting bored." "Ahhh is this room not to your liking my little lady?" Johnny asked as he wandered in. It was only then that Kate noticed he was just in his boxers. He sat down beside the woman and her baby and Belle instantly reached out for him. He held his hands up "Is it ok?" He asked and Kate smiled. "Of course." Secretly glad the attention wasn't on her for a moment. Belle chucked herself into Johnny's arms and gave him a sloppy kiss to the cheek before getting comfortable on his lap. "She's cuddly in the mornings." "Yes usually early mornings and when she's tired. Other than that she's off running around all day." Kate said avoiding eye contact. "You can look at me you know.." Johnny whispered. Kate slowly turned her head. "I'm sorry Johnny... last night was although incredible, it was completely unprofessional of me, and I'll ensure somebody takes over your account with immediate effect. You won't even notice the transition." "Woah what?" Johnny said looking deep into her eyes "Well you won't want me around now will you, how can I work for you legitimately now?" "Just like you've always done. I've never had an issue with your work Katie." "But..." "I don't see a problem unless you do? Was I that bad you never want to face me again?" "GOD NO." Katie said a little too eagerly making even Belle startle. "Sorry." She said smirking. "So what's the issue?" "Umm I don't know I just thought it was incredibly unprofessional of me." "We are both two consenting adults that did a grown up thing, I don't see an issue with it at all, in fact I quite enjoyed myself and I hope you did too." "I did." Kate said sheepishly, knowing her cheeks were glowing by now. "And maybe, just maybe I would like to do it again sometime, but properly." "Properly?" Kate interrupted. "Yes after an actual date and things, I'm a gent you know." "A date?" "Ah yes thanks for asking me, I would love to go on a date with you." Johnny smirked chuckling as Belle tried to poke his cheek with her chubby finger. Kate laughed at his joke and his tender way of breaking the tension. "Obviously, the next day or two are a little bit preoccupied but maybe the weekend or something?" Johnny said as if he was just making plans to go grocery shopping or something. Kate was silent, did Johnny Depp really want to date her? She didn't know where her voice had gone so she merely nodded in response.

After a few moments of silence, Belle began to yawn and cosy up to Johnny. The little girl had no qualms with him being topless and cosied into his chest just as her mother had done the night prior. Kate admired her daughter's taste as that's exactly how she had slept for most of the night too. "I think even she's realised it's a little early." "Yeah, she does that sometimes. I usually just lay her on my bed and she goes back to sleep." "Well let's do that." "No don't be silly, I'll just rock her in here for a while." "No come on." Johnny slowly stood and used one hand to pull back the sheets of the bed they were sat on, he climbed in and encouraged Kate to do the same as he gently laid Belle down in the middle, she immediately stretched out and within minutes her eyes were closed once more.

"She really is amazing." Johnny whispered. They were both lying on their sides with Belle in the middle, "I know, I'm very lucky, and very biased. I can't believe I almost lost her." "You nearly lost her?" "Yeah she gave us quite a scare when she was born, she didn't cry and was having difficulty breathing. It was soon sorted but felt like the longest few minutes of my life." "Wow. Thank god she was ok." "Yeah, it was rough." "And who witnessed her birth?" "What do you mean?" "Well if her father wasn't there, who was with you? Helping you?" "Oh nobody." "No one?" "Nope, my friend Jessie, she wanted to be, but the labour all happened so fast that I didn't really get time to call her so I just did it alone, she came to the hospital shortly after but I was on my own for the actual birth." "God you're a survivor through and through." "I have to be, she's my life, I do everything for her." "I know what you mean, my entire battle was for my kids, more than anything I wanted the truth out there for them." "And you did it, look at you now." Johnny smiled before tucking a loose curl behind Belle's ear. "So when you came home from the hospital there was nobody?" "Nope, well they kept us in a night longer than normal just to check her breathing, then Colleen came to visit and she drove us home, that's who Belle's white teddy is from." "Wow so you were both close?" "God yeah, it broke my heart when she told me she was moving but I get it." "How long have you known her?" "I met her just after I got the job in the New York office, we were on a virtual meeting together. We just stayed in touch, and then when I made my plan to escape I asked her if I could have a job with her in LA. Thank god she said yes." "Wow, yes thank god."

"Look we don't need to put a label on anything or make a thing of anything, just know that I want to take you on a date ok?" Johnny said before he kissed Kate's cheek and left her in her bedroom. His family and friends were due to arrive in a few short hours, and they had only just finished breakfast, all three of them still barely dressed. Well apart from Belle who was clad in princess pink pyjamas.
