Chapter Fifty Eight

"Then how Dad?" Jack asked scrunching his eyebrows. "Well, I umm I'm very happy and I hope you'll be too, that Kate, well, she's pregnant." Johnny said smiling as Kate's eyes went wide at the silence. Jack looked at his father blankly. "Pregnant??" Lily said loudly. "Yes." Johnny replied. "Like another baby?" Jack asked and Johnny raised an eyebrow wondering what else his son thought. "Yes as in a little baby." He said happily. Kate remained quiet on the couch as the two teens processed the news. Lily eventually stood and approached her father. "It's big news." She said quietly before slowly wrapping him in a hug. "Congratulations." She added. "Thank you darling. Jacky... are you happy?" Johnny asked hopefully. "Umm yes I mean there is no denying, I hope it's a boy, I'm pretty outnumbered." He said slowly standing and hugging his father also. Johnny took this moment to gently nudge his daughter towards a very nervous Kate who was staring at her lap and playing with her hands. "Kate, you're glowing." Lily said with a smile as she moved to sit beside her step mother. "Thank you darling, I know it's big news and probably quite a shock." Kate added taking Lily's hand in hers. "It's one big adventure." Johnny said proudly. "I promise we will make this work for all of us." He said ruffling his son's hair. "So when can you find out if it's a boy or a girl?" Jack asked sitting on the opposite couch. "Not for a while." Kate said before smiling "We have scan pictures though, do you want to see?" Lily nodded happily before Kate rushed into the hallway to get her handbag. "Are you guys really ok?" Johnny asked and the two teens nodded. "You'd tell me if you weren't wouldn't you?" He asked his children once more. "Of course, it's just big news Dad!" Lily said as Kate wandered back in unfolding the sonograms.

The next day Kate was bent over the toilet in the master bedroom en suite emptying her stomach when Johnny woke up. He rushed to her aid, and bent down beside her "Darling, why didn't you wake me?" "I can't wake you every time I feel nauseous." She replied weakly. "You should. I want to be able to help you," "Johnny, I appreciate that I really do but there's nothing even you can do for morning sickness." She said resting her forehead on her arm. They then heard a piercing scream of "Mama" coming from Belle's room and Kate sighed. "I bet she's had another scary dream." The mother said. "I'll go. Stay here." "Like I have a choice Johnny." She smirked as he stood, grabbed a tee and left the bedroom.

A short while later, Kate could hear her daughter's little footsteps and a pounding of her chubby fist on the bedroom door. "Maammaaaaa" she yelled. "Belle... remember we said Mama is poorly, so come hang with Dada for a while." "No I WANT MAMA." She heard her feisty little toddler say. Kate eventually pulled herself off the en suite floor, and stood donning her robe, she quickly washed her face before heading out to the landing. She saw toys everywhere and heard Johnny comforting a distressed Belle. "It's ok, Mummy will be up soon and then you can have as many cuddles as you like." She heard him say as she headed towards the smallest child's bedroom. She stood in the doorway and watched as Johnny had Belle in his arms and was swaying on the spot hushing her and wiping her tears. "She's not slept well and I hate to say it but I think she's got a little fever, she keeps burning up." "Oh and I've neglected her all morning." Kate said sadly. "Don't be silly, you weren't feeling so hot yourself. I've got it covered, why not go back to bed?" "No it's ok I'm up now. Give her here." Kate said wandering into the room. "Mamaaaaa!" Belle whined as she snuggled into Kate's arms. "It's ok Mama is here now darling... god she does feel warm doesn't she? Can you go get me the medicine?" "Sure thing doll."

Johnny soon returned and Kate gave the child the dosage before allowing her to play with Johnny further. "I've got an idea for later.. when Lily wakes up what say you we head into the attic and get out her old barbies?" Johnny said mainly to Belle but it made Kate smile. "That's a lovely idea but only if she doesn't mind. She doesn't have to share her old toys with Belle. "I'm sure she would love to. Me and her spent hours playing Barbie when she was little." "I know.. you mentioned it in many interviews over the years." Kate said with a smile. "Do you think they'll be ok with the new baby?" The wife asked her husband. "Course. I think they were just shocked. Besides I thought it was this one you were worried about?" "It is. Well I worry about them all. You know that." She said smiling as Johnny lent across to kiss her before Belle rushed over. "My Dada!!!" She said to Kate with a giggle. "That's right... and what's Dada's real name Belle?" "Jjjohnny." Belle said proudly struggling slightly with the pronunciation. "And what's Mama's name.." "Doll!" Belle said smiling, both the adults raised their eyebrows. "Try again darling, what's Mama's name?" "Doll, doll, doll." Belle said happily skipping around her toys but there wasn't a doll in sight. "She's got a point... you do call me that a lot." "Just be thankful she doesn't hear what I call you in the bedroom." Johnny smirked making Kate blush before he kissed her passionately once more, as he pulled back he whispered "I love you Mrs Depp." "And I love you.." she said with a smile in return.
