"Thank you so much. I had the best birthday lunch guys." Kate said as they returned to Sweetzer. The elder children had been adamant that they be present to help celebrate Kate's birthday and so after waking her up with breakfast in bed, they had gone to a cute little chic restaurant in the hills for a celebratory lunch and returned to sweetzer for the day. "Your birthday isn't over yet." Johnny said as he placed Belle down on the floor in the foyer. She had kicked off her shoes in the car on the way home and nobody could be bothered to attempt to get them back on the toddler, so Johnny had swept in and carried her from the car. As soon as she was put down she ran into the living room after Lily-Rose. The two girls were nigh on inseparable and it was endearingly cute.

Later on the couple were chatting "So darling, are you sure you don't want to go out tonight?" "No honestly Johnny, thank you but the lunch was enough. A nice evening in with you guys is all I need." "Can we get takeout?" Jack asked wandering into the sitting room and slumping on the couch. "Son we've only been back from lunch two hours!" "I know Dad but it's Katie's birthday and we always get takeout on birthdays!" Kate smiled, she was happy to go along with what the children wanted. "We'll see. Where's your sister and Belle got to?" "Lily took her outside to play. I think they want to get in the pool." "The pool?" Kate asked concerned. "Yeah are we allowed? Is Belle allowed?" Kate looked at Johnny who smiled "I could get on board with a late afternoon swim." The adults smiled before rushing off to gather the children, Kate took Belle into her arms and went to change her into her swimsuit.

The five had all congregated round the pool, the two elder children jumped straight in, and Kate manoeuvred into the pool with Belle and her float. The latter was splashing around and desperate to get free. The mother gently placed her daughter into the inflatable and gently pushed her into the middle of the pool where Lily and Jack were. Johnny put some music on and bombed in splashing them all. Belle loved this and splashed more with her hands. Johnny stood up straight and pushed his wet hair back off his face. God he looked like something out of a commercial. Kate could barely keep it together. Luckily her sunglasses covered her widening eyes, as she admired him. Belle was loving the attention, and was giggling away with the children as Johnny slowly approached. "You ok doll?" "Oh yes I'm fine, sorry I was just watching the kids." "They adore her you know, and besides we are close by, try to relax, it will build her confidence in the water too if you do." Kate smiled, she loved his pearls of wisdom. He moved closer to whisper in her ear "That bikini should be illegal.." "excuse me?" "It does things to your body that drive me wild." Kate smirked, her body was pretty average especially since Belle, or so she thought. Clearly Johnny didn't agree. "Oh hush. You're just saying that..." "Doll I'm really not. Trust me if we were alone right now I would be having you on that lounger right there." For the second time in five minutes, Kate's eyes widened, she gasped but secretly loved that idea.

Later on the group had ordered takeout, and were chilling in the sitting room. Johnny got up and took Belle out with him claiming he wanted to get her cleaned up after dinner. Katie was in an intense discussion with Jack about who her favourite Marvel character should be, baring in mind she had never seen one of the movies, it didn't phase her that Johnny was taking on even more work with her daughter. Lily smirked from the side, she loved having this new woman and her child in her father's life. Anyone could see how happy they made Johnny. As Jack wrapped up his speech about the difference between Thor and Captain America the lights were turned down low. It made Kate jump and she immediately grabbed hold of Jack. "Are you ok kids?" She asked panicked trying to stand and get to the light switch.

"Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Kate, Happy Birthday to you!" In walked Johnny with a cake carefully balanced in his hands and a very giddy Belle by his feet. "Come and give Mummy her cake Belle." Johnny said sweetly and the little girl launched herself at her mother. "Oh guys, you shouldn't have..., Ok ready to blow the candles out kids... 1,2,3" "Yayyy!" Belle squealed and clapped her hands. Kate looked up at Johnny and mouthed "Thank you." "Anytime." He said quietly back before placing the cake on the coffee table and rushing off to get plates and forks. The group soon tucked into the sweet treat and Kate did her best to share hers with Belle, claiming that the toddler didn't need that much sugar before bed. "Kate, you know if you wanted to go out more with Dad. I could babysit you know, I promise I would take good care of Belle." Lily-Rose said finishing her plate. "Oh darling that's sweet thank you, she's a lot of work though. I don't know if I would be happy leaving it all down to you." "Honestly we don't mind. I've always wanted a little sister anyway so don't see it as work." Johnny smiled. "We'll see." Kate said gratefully. "I think it's bedtime for this little madam... I'll be back shortly." Kate stood and got Belle to say goodnight to everyone. She went round the room hugging the three and leaving sloppy kisses on their cheeks. "Goodnight Princess." Johnny said wrapping his arms round the little girl before her mother escorted her out the room. "Thanks guys for helping make Kate's birthday so special, I do really appreciate it." "Don't mention it Dad. We really like her." Jack said going for a second slice of cake. "Yeah Dad it's no bother when she's so nice to us. I wish she would relax a little though." Lily said
earning a smirk from her father.

The next day, Kate woke up to a barrage of messages, emails and a whole load of extra work. Headlines had broken about hers and Johnny's relationship and she didn't know what to do.

Kate had been in the office just over an hour, and had debriefed with her bosses who although were a little put out that they hadn't been told, agreed that they would defend her and do all they could to ease the attention. Jessie was her usual supportive self and wanted nothing but the best for her close friend. They wandered to the kitchen together to make another cup of coffee when Kate dragged her in and shut the door. "He loves me!" She said giddily. "He actually loves me."
