As soon as I herd sirens, I knew something was wrong. As we left the book store we heard police sirens, so instincts kicked in and we started to run. I risked glancing back to see three police officers running full speed after us. Luckily I didn't trip and fall. This was the craziest thing I'd ever done, and I was terrified but I had to keep running. The adrenaline pumping through my body made me about 10 times faster. Jake and Emma ran close behind me. We all saw a crowd of people so we ran into the mob, knocking over people as we went. I might have knocked over an old women but trying to dodge people was much harder then it looks, the darkness wasn't helping either. We ran into a nearby alley hoping we had lost the police. We remained holding our breath until we saw the police run past the alley.
"This is all my fault," I groaned through heavy breaths.
"Why would it be?" Emma asked warily, still surveying for police nervously.
"My mom probably heard what happened at the cafe and wants to send me back home," I confessed trying to collect myself, "Why can't my mother let me be independent for just one moment?"
"I say you stay with us," Jake said while wiping the sweat off his forehead,"If you stay with us until your plane is set to leave, you will get what you wanted, an adventure. And we will get a great memory."
I thought for a moment, my mother was going to kill me, but it was my life and I didn't want to spend my three days of freedom with my mother trying to torture me. The idea of being part of a friendship made me ecstatic, so I made a decision, "Its settled then, let's lose the cops and have an adventure!"
