"Mom?" I stuttered barely comprehending my words or word, I guess. My mother climbed out of the passenger seat of a police cruiser wearing cloths found only at "Forever Uptight" and " High-strung & M". She crossed her arms and tapped her foot impatiently.
"Sarah what do you have to say for yourself?" My mother demanded.
"I'm sorry! I just got lost and then Jake and Emma helped me and I decided a little fun wouldn't hurt anyone so I had a little adventure. I know I'm not your perfect daughter but I never will be!" I burst. Facing my mother with courage, but on the inside I felt like an imploding building.
"I don't expect you to be a perfect daughter but I expect you to try! Your father and I worked full time all of last summer to get you into Ridgemore then you decide to waste our money to get you expelled. I planned a great trip but you made me run around the city scared to death about what might be happening to you. I'm not the perfect mother but I deserve a daughter who at-least try's,"my mom frowned disappointed in me. Wow I acted like a jerk. I was selfish and uncaring but she made me feel like she was too.
"You never ask what I want. Ever. You just send me where you want me to go. Schedule what you want me to do. I'm tired of feeling like the only choice I have is what I have for lunch! I want do art but Ridgemore's art program sucks. You never listen to me I've been telling you I want to paint for years!" I replied. Jake and Emma stood back watching the heated argument.
"Just get I the car," my mother ordered gesturing at the police cruiser.
"No!" I yelled.
"Get in the car!" My mom yelled back. I started marching forward. Until Jake grabbed my hand.
"I won't let her!" Jake interrupted pulling me back to his side. Emma grabbed my hand as well.
"I won't either!" She protested, standing a little taller.
"WE ARE GOING HOME RIGHT NOW AND THE INSTANT WE GET THERE YOU ARE GOING TO BOARDING SCHOOL! PERIOD!" Mother boomed. I had never seen her this angry before. I might be sent to military school if she got any more mad or even worst my friends could get in more trouble then they already were in so I had to back down.
"Fine!" I reluctantly agreed, "Just give us a minute."
Then we were forced to say our final goodbyes.
