Still on the look out for police, we decided to get some supplies from Emma and Jakes appartment before we set off to see the rest of Paris. I waited outside their apartment on the steps. The sun had set, two whole hours away from my parents. I imagined my mother strangling a police officer as he told her they hadn't caught me.
Two days ago I was at home making a plan to get out of Ridgemore and now I'm running around the streets of Paris with my new friends. Emma seemed nice, awfully quiet though. Jake was amazing, kind, smart just perfect. I began to fantasize about Jake falling in love with me, kissing me under the Eiffel Tower.
"Um, Sarah you ok?" Emma snapped me out of my vision.
"Yeah just thinking about...puppies," I lied awkwardly trying to recover from my googly eyes I had just displayed.
"Sure" Emma replied sarcastically.Jake came out the doors with a backpack around his shoulder.
"All the essentials, money, food and fake mustaches," Jake announced.
"And what are the mustaches for exactly?" I giggled.
"In case we need a disguise," Jake said while putting the fake mustache above his lip,"And I look darn good with a mustache!" This is why we were friends.Paris at night was beautiful, lights strung for trees, wonderful music made the streets feel alive and joyful. We passed a fancy restaurant called "MANGER!" I still had no idea what it meant.
"Guys I'm hungry, wanna get some food?" Jake asked hinting at going in the restaurant we had just passed.
"I'm starving let's eat!" I declared. We all spun around and ran into MANGER!The atmosphere of the restaurant was amazing. Smells of wonderful food crept through the air, the sound of people laughing made it more inviting. We got up to the restaurants host. He spoke perfect English, but I didn't like what I was hearing,
"Two hour wait, unless you have reservations."
"We should go," I grumbled almost as loud as my stomach.
"But we have reservations!" Jake lied, making the night a little more interesting, and a little more dangerous.
