The little Polaroid of the Eiffel Tower sitting on my desk at home didn't to justice to the real thing. The giant tower made me feel like an ant. The huge metal beams were intricately placed making the mess of metal seem like a huge price of art, which it was. Jake and Emma stood beside me. It took a minute to take it all in but when I did I mumbled in awe,
"Wow."
"This things amazing, did you know the Eiffel Tower was built in 1889. It was supposed to be torn down in 1909 but the city repurposed it as a radio tower, talk about a cool history," Emma started rambling on, she was kinda a genius.
"Blah. Blah. Blah. Emma let me get a picture of you in front of the tower." Jake insisted pulling out his camera out of his bag.
"Ok," I agreed. Starting to gussy up for the picture.
"Oh you look great," Jake said pulling me into place for the picture. I blushed. Jake made me feel special. Like I was unlike anyone he had ever met, and unless he had never meet a human being before me, it was impossible. But he made me feel that way. I looked down at my outfit my skinny jeans, grey shirt and brown leather jacket were nothing special. I felt almost unworthy to take a picture with the extravagant structure but I was ready.I smiled and tried to look camera ready. I posed with my hands simply down at my sides and my head slightly tilted, like I did in most pictures.
"Cheese!" I exclaimed as Jake snapped the picture.
"Perfect!" Jake said examining the photo on his digital camera. He was right it was perfect. Not the picture but the moment. I finally felt like I fit in somewhere. All was great until...
