All was going great that evening until two large muscular waiters came charging at as. I jumped out of my chair and started to run. Emma followed me, but Jake stayed behind.
"Come on!" I yelled to Jake as I ran to the back door. When I had reached the back door I turned around to see Jake jump on the large circular table and punch one of the waiters square in the face.
"Go!" Jake yelled, "I got this"
I knew he didn't, he was saying that he could fight two people that were the equivalent of The Rock. I ran through the maze of tables, people gasping as I knocked into their chairs. They were probably thinking "Oh yay! Dinner and a performance!"I grabbed Jakes muscular arm and pulled him off the table. I took his hand and we ran out of the restaurant. The Rock waiters followed us. Emma ran ahead of us, we ran out of the alley that the backside lead to and on to the street. We crossed the empty street and ran. No direction we just ran.
After about twenty minutes of running in any direction possible we had lost the waiters. We ran into an alley and sat leaning on the side of a building. It was then I realized I was still holding Jakes hand. I slowly pulled my hand away.
"Why did you do that?" I asked still out of breath.
"Cause I wanted to be tough and fight the bad guys, but all that gave me was a sore hand," Jake admitted.
"Guys I don't know if I can do this anymore," Emma mumbled her voice full of shame.
"Your gonna give up now?" Jake asked, "After this great day we've had? Sarah is only here for two more days and your just going to leave?"
"Jake we just left a restaurant without paying and then you punched a waiter! We could be in a lot of trouble," Emma explained. I couldn't believe she was going to leave us. Emma had been one of my only friends I had ever had and she was to scared to carry on?
"Emma, I've never been away from my parents for more then a school day. I get in trouble for having my elbows on the table. My parents still want me to go to the school where I get bullied. I've never had a friend because everyone at my private school thinks I'm a freak. My life sucks. I just wanted 3 days without having to worry what my parents would say or what people at school would say. I just wanted a good day."
Emma thought for a moment then said,"And that is what we are going to give you."
