First chapter and first fanfic! Enjoy! :D

Dipper paced in fear. The town was being invaded by a huge army of giant green blobs that were going to corrupt and destroy the Earth. These blobs were made of living acid, and everything they touched died within seconds. The one hope was that they moved very slowly. No one knew where they came from, but they knew that they had to stop them. Given enough time, the blobs could quite literally destroy the town, if not the entire Earth.

Despite having traveled through dimensions for 30 years, Ford didn't have a clue what these things were or how anyone could stop them. Dipper and him had been trying to find a solution, but nothing was having much of an affect. They tried everything from trying to shrink the blobs to making a laser specifically meant to burn through them! This didn't work, as both the magic growth crystal and the laser had no affect on the blobs. The problem with these blobs, was that their substance could not be determined. They were not quite a liquid but not quite a solid either. Somewhere in between. And whatever substance they were, seemed to have no way to change or destroy it. In fact, one of Ford's inventions did indeed break apart one of the blobs. But from each of the pieces, another one grew. Fighting them only made them stronger. As the days went by, more and more of the forest and town were being destroyed, with life killed in the process.

Dipper was horrified. Ford reassured him that they were doing all that they could, and to just keep trying their best. Dipper wanted to believe this, but he refused to give up hope just yet. He knew that there must be some way to stop the blobs. After all, they must've come from somewhere...right? Then, he had a thought. The Infinity sided die. It was a risky chance, but it was a chance nonetheless. He got Ford's permission, and then started to head down into the basement.

The stairs made a creaking sound as Dipper walked on them, down into the darkness. The more steps he took, the deeper he got into the basement. The closer he was getting to chancing it all. Then, as he reached the bottom, he dusted off his clothes and headed towards the glass case with the die. It didn't take long for him to find it with its glowing shiny colors.

Dipper slowly opened the case and picked up the die in his hands. Afraid of the outcome, he considered what he was about to do. Literally anything could happen if he did this. He remembered Ford's words, "Our faces could melt into jelly; the world could turn into an egg! Or you could just roll an eight. Who knows?" He took a deep breath, and held the dice in a rolling position. "Please don't let this make anything worse!" Taking a deep breath, he rolled the dice, which flashed through different icons.

Dipper watched with hope as everyone's fate was being decided by this moment. Within a few seconds, the dice landed on an icon with paper and writing on it. Then, a magic energy glow blasted out of it and onto the floor. After the energy died down, Dipper looked at the dice again. It was still. Whatever had just happened, it had already been done. Dipper checked his arms and his clothes. Still normal. Then he glanced around him. Nothing seemed different. The world was definitely not an egg. He put his hand up to feel his nose. He still had a face. So, whatever the dice did, it couldn't have been horrible right?

Dipper sighed with relief. As he carefully put the dice away, he noticed that the magical sparks that were left over from the blast had formed into some sort of paper. Curious, he picked it up, and began to read it in his head.

A boy destined to stop the storm

Will he save the world or keep his form?

Summoning Cipher is the best advice

But this choice will have a sacrifice

Dipper froze. Cipher?! As in Bill?!! Jeez, he didn't want to deal with him right now. But then again, it didn't seem like he had much of a choice. There was a high probability that he was going to die with the rest of the Earth anyway, and if Bill possessing him would save the world...then so be it. Groaning, he took the paper in his hands and folded it up. He shoved it into his pocket and then hurried up the stairs.

He closed the vending machine door, and glanced around to see if anyone was there. He was alone. He dashed up the stairs and slowly opened the door to his room. Luckily, Mabel wasn't there. He went over by his bed and hid the note inside of his pillowcase. He then went over to his sticky notes and grabbed one of the few pens that he had somehow managed not to chew up. He considered if what he was planning was a smart move. "You're doing this for your family, he thought." Sighing, he wrote out a fake note, about just waiting for the right time and the answer will come. After hesitating a moment, he went back downstairs to give Ford the note.

He found him reading his journals outside, still trying to come up with a solution for the blob problem. Dipper approached Ford and handed him his fake note. "This-uh-this is what the dice gave me when I rolled it." Ford looked at the note for a moment. Then he beamed smiling at Dipper. "Why, this is great news Dipper! This is exactly what we've been hoping for! I'm so so proud of you!"

Dipper cringed, but tried to smile. "Th-thanks! I uh-I tried my best..."Ford grinned and motioned for Dipper to sit next to him. He showed him some of the new ideas that he had come up with, just incase something went wrong. Dipper sat down next to Ford and tried to look happy about the new plans and ideas that he was showing him. It was very hard to do so. Ford believed that things were finally starting to look up, while in reality, things for Dipper couldn't have been any worse.
