Mabel, Wendy, and Soos all went into the woods to complete Ford's mission. Soos and Wendy weren't even quite sure what they were getting into, but they knew that they definitely wanted to help, no questions asked. Putting aside the mission though...Wendy was very very concerned about what had happened to Dipper. She was even more concerned that Mabel seemed to be avoiding the subject altogether. However, she could tell that Mabel wasn't ready to talk about it. She didn't want to press the girl unless that was her absolute last option...Mabel seemed pretty shaken up about whatever had happened. For now, she was going to help her with this mission... and then probably ask Stan or Ford later. Although...she was still a bit confused about what they were doing in the woods to begin with...
"Uh, hey Mabel? I know you said we're on a mission that Ford sent you on, but what exactly does this mission involve? What is the main goal of this mission?" Mabel mentally froze. She thought about giving Wendy the full explanation....she deserved it after all. However, she decided against it. She'll tell her...eventually...but not right now. "Oh! We're trying to get some unicorn hair to make something that Ford needs!" Wendy was a bit caught off guard by this. "Wait hold up, unicorn hair? As in...Ford is saying those things actually exist? For real?" Mabel nodded. "Yep! That's what he told me! Besides...we've faced way weirder and crazier things this summer...its not surprising to me." Wendy shrugged. "Fair enough." Soos was still pretty confused. "But wait dude, what is the hair even for?" Shoot. What was she supposed to say? That it was protection against Bill? Then they'd know something was up and keep asking questions about it. No, she needed to answer it mostly truthfully... but vaguely.
"It's a shield against something. Something that was causing the blobs." Soos and Wendy looked at each other and then back at Mabel with a shocked face. "Oh! Wow! Well then, guess we better get some before anything gets worse...that would be pretty bad." Mabel nooded and tried to smile convincingly. However, as soon as the others looked away, she sighed. She didn't like lying to them. But she had to in this case. Frowning, she tried to think about something else that would make her happy. "OH and PLUS, I've always wanted to see a unicorn, and show it that I'm pure of heart! This could be my chance!" Wendy smiled.
"Honestly...I stopped believing in unicorns when I was like, 5 years old. But then again... like you said...considering the rest of the things in this town...suddenly unicorns don't seem so far fetched anymore." Soos laughed. "Dudes, this is gonna be so cool! The three of us, on an important mission, searching for a horse with a spear on its head that's so beautiful it makes grown men cry!" Mabel and Wendy looked a Soos weirdly for a moment, but then laughed as well. Mabel smiled. "Well, come on guys! It says the unicorns are this way!" Good...they were excited...they were happy...she just had to make sure it stays that way...
Dipper felt his mindscape begin to become fuzzy. He was waking up. But yet...he didn't have control. It was almost as if Bill was controlling his body, and his consciousness was blocked off from it in his mindscape. The thing was, Dipper was in this in-between state. He wasn't asleep and therefore couldn't do whatever he wanted, but he wasn't fully awake and couldn't use his powers. So all that he could do was stay there and exist until Bill allowed him out of his mind. And luckily, that didn't take too long. Dipper woke up.
As soon as he did, he looked at his arms and legs. Yep, he was still in Bill's body. Groaning, he tried to make sense of his surroundings. Little did he know...that this definitely would not help at all. His surroundings were meant to make no sense...to quite literally to confuse the heck out of him. And that's when he really understood where he was. He was in the nightmare realm. Bill literally teleported him into his current home base and then just left him there to manage it. ...PLUS...Bill KNEW that Dipper would HATE the realm. Dipper loved making sense of things and finding explanations, but this realm had no explanation. It just....existed. Horrified, Dipper started calling for Bill in his head.
"BILL?! BILL?!" No response. He knew that Bill could hear him though, which meant that Bill had purposely left him on his own. Sighing, Dipper concentrated and somehow managed to get his new Bill form to float higher. Whoa. Flying...felt so much more different than walking. So much...lighter...He flew around for a short bit, just trying to assess the area. Hm...well...as much as it was nonsensical, it didn't appear to be super dangerous...especially with the added comfort of his- no, Bill's powers. Alright...no problem. he could do-
His thoughts were then interrupted as he suddenly heard a voice behind him. A voice that definitely did not sound human or like anything he'd known or heard before. "Well well well, if it isn't Bill Cipher!"
