I hear something crash which makes me shoot straight out of bed. I run downstairs and sigh when I see my parents rushing around trying to get all of their stuff together. I frown as I sit on the couch. I didn't look where I was sitting and saw Andrew a few feet away from me. I don't care. It's 4 in the morning and I don't have to be awake until 6.

I curl into a ball in the corner of the couch and slowly fall back asleep. Someone shifts me and makes me lay down on the couch rather than be curled into a ball. I was half asleep so I didn't fight, a hand rests on my arm and I pull it closer to me as the intoxicating scent of cedar fills my nose in the most calming way possible.

I sit straight up as someone shakes me awake, I hit Chloe with my head making her chuckle. We both laugh as I rub my eyes. "Sorry Care Bear." she shakes her head.

"It's fine. You left your phone upstairs so I figured you didn't have your alarm. It's six-fifteen." I smile and nod as I look at whoever was sitting where I was lying. Andrew was there with his phone in his hand. Did I lay on him the entire time? I back away from him and frown. I walk up the stairs and close my door to get ready.

I walk downstairs after getting dressed and grab my stuff to walk out the door. I drive to the school, I see Bailey standing by the door with two coffees in her hands.

I walk over to her and she smiles, "Are we late?" she shakes her head

"I think we're early. I haven't seen any of the other girls and I never got a text from Coach Maggie saying she canceled practice this morning." I nod as she hands me a coffee cup.

"You didn't have to." she smiles.

"Oh I'm not, that's mine. I'm just making you hold it so I don't look weird." I laugh and nod. "Are you okay?" I nod and sigh.

"Yeah, just a rough two days." she frowns and nods.

"Well if you ever need or want to talk, I'm here." I nod and give her a side hug as Coach Maggie opens the door.

"Did you guys not get my text?" We both shake our heads and she sighs. "I hate technology. One of these days I'm going to go back to carrier pigeons." Bailey and I bust out laughing which made Coach Maggie laugh.

"I don't know how well that would go over with the school board but good luck." We all laugh again.

"Anyway, there is a rumor going around about how guys are going to be giving girls around the school a rose for the upcoming dance. If you get a rose then you have an invitation." I raise an eyebrow.

"Can I stick around? I have some emotions I have to let out that I don't feel like letting out on another person." Coach Maggie laughs and nods.

"Might as well, we have the gym. Is everything alright?" I nod.

"Yeah, just been a rough couple of days." she nods and lets us into the gym. "You don't have to stay if you don't want to." Bailey shakes her head.

"I'm not going to leave you when you need a friend." I smile and nod as Coach Maggie tosses me a ball. Coach Maggie joined in for a while, we bumped the ball around trying not to get too sweaty.

Bailey and I go our separate ways when the bell rings. I walk to my locker and see Chloe and Mason standing by our lockers, she has a red rose in her hands. I think it's cute but at the same time, I think it's generic and overrated for roses to be the flower for love. Why can't someone get me a Buttercup or something?

I shake the thought from my head and smile at my sister, "Hey, are you planning on going to the dance?" I open my locker and see a small bouquet of pink tulips and bright yellow buttercups. I pull it out of my locker and give Chloe a confused look. She smiles and shrugs her shoulders.
