I fumble around my room making sure I have everything I need for practice and class today. I change into my practice clothes and run downstairs. I smile at Dad as I grab an apple from the bowl on the island. I go to take a bite out of it but Dad stops me.

"Unless you want a mouth full of styrofoam I wouldn't eat that." I glare at the apple and sigh.

"Why is it even there?" He laughs and grabs me an apple from the fridge and I grab my keys, he tosses me the apple and smiles.

"Where are you off to so early?" I smile at him after I take a bite out of the apple.

"Coach scheduled a morning practice today since she let us out on Friday. I'll see you later." I walk out to the garage and grab my helmet after I finish my apple.

I pull into my parking spot and see Coach Maggie standing at the door, she smiles at me as I walk over to the locker room. I put my bag and helmet away before walking back out to the gym. I sigh as all of the girls are paired up with each other, Coach Maggie walks in and frowns at me.

We all wait for Coach Maggie to tell us what is going on. "Okay, girls!" We run over to her and kneel. "We have our first match this week. I need your A-game! But that also means you must include everyone." When it comes to this team they all like each other except me. Do I know why? Nope. Do I care? Nope.

"We are going to run through a practice match after we run some warm-up drills so get ready." I take a deep breath and wait for her to blow the whistle that said to start the warm-ups. She blew and we start doing our set rotation. I was the last one to get the ball so I bumped it starting the bump rotation and everything was going smoothly until the rotation came back and Jessie spiked the ball toward my head.

I dodge it and glare at her. Coach Maggie saw it and blew her whistle. "Peters! You're out for the first match." Jessie scoffs and walks over to stand next to Coach Maggie. "Break into teams. Cassie, you serve first." She tosses me the ball and I take a deep breath as I make the serve.

We finish the first match and Coach Maggie lets Jessie back in. We mix up the teams and Jessie is on my team. One of the other girls served the ball and we got a good volley. I was heading to get the ball to set it up for one of the other girls but someone tripped me.

"Peters!" Jessie glares at me and walks away from the court. We finish the match and wait for Coach Maggie to dismiss us.

I change into my school clothes and walk back out to the main hallway. I have my helmet in hand and stumble forward dropping my keys and phone as someone tripps me. I glare at Jessie who is laughing with some of the other girls.

It takes everything in me not to drop everything and put her in her place. But she walks away as two people start walking toward me. Bailey, a girl from my team, and Andrew. I look away from him and smile at Bailey, she hands me my keys and phone.

"Thanks." she smiles back and nods.

"You were really good. Do you want to meet up and try to volley for a bit at lunch?" I give her a shocked look. Nobody from the team has asked me to hang out before but I nod.

"I'd like that." she smiles again and nods before she walks away. Andrew leans against the locker next to mine. I just ignore him as Chloe and Mason walk up to us.

"Hey, are you okay? I saw what Jessie did." I look over at my twin and nod.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Jessie is just a bitch who doesn't know that one of these days I'm going to snap and she will lose a limb." Chloe laughs and shakes her head.

"I don't recommend that you still like being on the volleyball team." I chuckle.

"Damn, you're right. I'll just hire someone to do it after I get my next paycheck." We both laugh and put our stuff in our lockers.
