New Year's Eve. Mason, Chloe, Cassidy, and I decided to have a party. The girls from the volleyball team, some of Mason's friends, and some other people were invited. As far as I know, only some of them are coming.
I'm not a huge party person but whatever, as long as I'm with Cassidy at midnight I am a happy camper. We have been irreparable since we both said the big three. I don't regret it, I feel like I do love her. I couldn't imagine my life without her in it.
Cassidy is at work right now and I'm helping Chloe and Mason set up for the party. We are using my house since my parents are out of town for the weekend. They have been working really hard for the past four years trying to get enough money saved up for me to go to college but in all honesty, I don't even know if I want to go to college.
Aunt Briget asked me if I wanted to take over her spot at the shelter. I told her I will think about it because I know how important the shelter is to Cassidy and my aunt. I just have to think about it because I still don't know what I want to do with my life.
I shake the thought from my head as the front door opens, I look up from the balloons I was blowing up for Chloe to see her twin sister walking through the door with a tired expression on her face, I start to walk up to her when Chloe goes up to her instead.
"You okay Bambi?" Cassidy nods and runs her hands through her hair.
"Yeah just tired, I've been working since six this morning and I still have to make food for tonight." Chloe shakes her head.
"You go take a nap. We will order pizza tonight or something. Don't worry about that right now. Andrew, can she take a nap in your room?" I start to nod but Cassidy shakes her head.
"I said I'm fine." I frown tie the balloon I was working on and walk over to Cassidy who gives me a sad look.
"Come on." I grab her hand and pull her up the stairs. We get into my room and I close the door behind us. She slumps over onto my bed and sighs.
"I'm sorry." I shake my head and sit next to her, "Your aunt says she is thinking about moving." I nod, she told me yesterday when I went over to her house for dinner. "She told you? Why is she moving? She has the shelter, she can't leave the animals alone. She can't sell the place, everyone in this town loves the shelter."
I put my hand on Cassidy's shoulder, "She's not selling the place. Someone will still be running it." Her eyebrows raise. "She asked me if I wanted to take her spot." Cassidy's eyes go wide as she jumps up and turns to face me.
"Are you serious? Are you going to take it? I mean how exactly would that work? I mean with you being my boss and all. But that's amazing that she suggested you take her spot. I mean I've worked there longer but you are her nephew and I am really thinking about doing what my mom said and starting my own business but at the same time I like wor-" I pull her down onto my lap and kiss her to stop her from talking.
Everything fades away as Cassidy's hands slide into my hair as she kisses me back. I pull away, keeping her on my lap, "Are you done?" she lets out a stuttering breath as she flutters her eyes open.
"Mhm." I smile and put my hand on her cheek.
"What do you think would be the best idea for me in this situation?" she takes a deep breath.
"I think you should take the job opportunity." I smile and nod. "Do you think I should go forward with starting the business with Chloe? She already said she was all for it." I smile and nod again.
"I think you should do whatever you feel is right in your heart." she rolls her eyes and chuckles.
"That was really cliche but thank you." I nod and wrap my arms around her waist again.
