Part 2: Shadows of Magic (Rogue Cheney X OC)

Chapter 11

Hope's P. O. V:

I wake up and look around the prison cell we're in, shackled to the wall with our hands on either side of our heads. Frosch is shackled to the wall beside Rogue with a single shackle around his waist.

Rogue and Erza also regain consciousness.

The scarlet haired woman asks, "Everyone okay?"

Frosch wakes up as I reply, "Yeah."

"How are we gonna get out of this?" Mutters Rogue.

Erza says reassuringly, "We'll figure something out."

"Why did they even capture us?" Rogue wants to know.

I say, "Because of me." He and Erza flick their gazes to me questioningly. "Their leader knew who I am and figured I'd fetch a high price or something like that, so they're keeping me here for later. That's pretty much what he said."

Anger flashes through Rogue's gaze as he tells me, "I will not let him take you! We're getting out of here... somehow."

I smile as I say, "Thank you, Roguey, but I think I've got this." He looks at me quizzically as I turn into ether and struggle a bit with my binds. After a few more seconds, the shackles around my feet snap off, then my wrists. Rogue's eyes widen.

"How did you...?"

"Hope's Ether Form can grant her superhuman strength so she can break out of binds usually too strong for a human," Explains Erza as I go over to Frosch and use a mini Ether Beam to saw through his shackle. It pops off and I do the same to Rogue.

When I'd freed him, I free Erza next.

Once she's free, I say, "Let's get out of here. I think we've destroyed pretty much all of their weapons."

"Not all of them," Says Erza. We nod and take off out of the cell, Frosch keeping close.

"Freeze!!" We stop short when a man holds his Element Burst Revolver at us. "How did you get out?"

I say with an evil smirk, "The next time you try to lock up someone made purely of ethernano, you should probably use Seal Stone."

The man fires a blast from his gun but I just use my Ether Hair to knock it aside and it slams into the wall. I then sweep my arm and a wave of ether hits the man, knocking him down with a grunt. I use my Telekinesis Magic to bring the weapon over to me and blast it. I drop the gun on the ground.

My teammates and I continue forward.

We find ourselves on the ground floor, surrounded by a bunch of Harpuia members.

"Get them!" A man roars and they start firing at us. Again.

"Remember: we're to destroy their weapons," I remind my teammates as I stand in front of Frosch and create a shield to reflect bullet like attacks. Erza and Rogue nod their heads before they dive into the fray.

I grunt and fire Ether Blasts at the Harpuia members. I manage to knock three down but miss others. Grunting, I make my shield longer and wider to block more gun attacks. I see Rogue slithering around on his Shadow Form while Erza cuts down members pretty easily.

"Gotcha, you weird little frog!" A woman with green hair says as she aims at Frosch. I quell my anger long enough to form a protective dome around him that rebounds the attack, surprising the woman. When she meets my eyes, fear crosses her face.

Before the woman could even move, my Ether Hair latches around her and I float upward, keeping the dome around Frosch.

"Everyone, stop! Or I'll drain the life force out of this woman, and then the rest of you!" I threaten, causing all fighting to cease as everyone turns their heads to me.
