Part 2: Shadows of Magic (Rogue Cheney X OC)

Chapter 18

Hope's P. O. V:

I sit next to Rogue on the train to Amaryllis Town, the place where Endymion Magecrown was supposed to be hiding in. Sting sits on the other side of me and Alec and Erza sit opposite us while the rest of Team Natsu sit in the car across from us.

Wendy had used her Troia spell on the Dragon Slayers so they won't suffer their motion sickness.

"I'm glad you decided to take this job, Hope-chan," Says Rogue, his arm around my waist. "You haven't been on one in awhile, have you?"

"No. But I have been meditating and training," I reply. I smile a little. "I'm glad we get to do this job together."

"Me, too," He agrees. "It's great that you're going on jobs again." He leans forward and kisses me sweetly once. Alec and Erza smile happily at us.

Sting speaks up. "So, any word on the Akatsuki?"

Erza responds, glancing to him, face serious once more, "No. Not since last week's attack."

"I'm worried that Persephone will plan something since she hasn't made her move again,"Alec inputs seriously.

I groan as I cuddle into Rogue's side and he tightens his arm around me, "Ugh, can we please talk about something else apart from the Akatsuki? I'm tired of hearing about them."

Erza, Sting and Alec exchange glances before the blonde asks me, "Have you recorded any new songs with Jason lately?"

I perk up only slightly at the change in topic and reply, "Not much, but I'm already working on my new album which will be released next year."

"Cool," Says the Eucliffe, grinning. "Can't wait! I know Rogue can't, either." He throws his teammate a goofy grin and Rogue friend at him in embarrassment.

"Shut up, Sting."

I can't help but let out a small giggle.

Alec says with a soft smile, "I think that's the first time in the past week that you've laughed, imotou-chan."

I say as I cuddle into his side and bury my face into his chest, "Well, Roguey always seems to know how to make me feel better."

The Cheney smiles happily down at me while I feel the other members of my team smile too from across the aisle.

It was another two hours before we finally make it to Amaryllis Town. It was huge and beautiful wth tall buildings. This would be my first time here.

The sun was sinking lower in the sky at this point.

"Whoa, check out this place," Murmurs Gray as he leans weight into his left leg and rests his hand on his hip.

"This place is incredible," Adds Lucy.

"Aye!" Happy chimes.

"Fro thinks so too!" Says the green Exceed as the others add their own agreement.

I say as I turn to my team, "I think we should split up to look for Endymion Magecrown. I'll go with Roguey, Alec and Wendy with Erza, Natsu and Lucy, and Gray and Sting. The Exceeds can go with their partners. We'll meet back here in three hours if we haven't found anything."

Everyone agrees and we go out separate ways.

Rogue and I search the city for a couple of hours but we find no trace of the Magic Tyrant, Endymion's alias.

"Where do you think he could be?" Rogue murmurs aloud, as we stop on a bustling street. By now, the sun has set.

"Hm, I may be able to track him," I suggest before I hover cross legged off the ground and take on my Ether Form. I search the ethernano in the world around me for our target, and feel a little worried when I see him at the plaza, attacking civilians with what looks like a staff.
