Part 2: Shadows of Magic (Rogue Cheney X OC)

Chapter 66

Hope's P. O. V:

Suddenly, there's movement behind us. We gasp as we whip our heads around, only see Rogue has replaced Yukino, crouching with one hand on the ground for balance.

"What the—?!" Sting says in recognition, "M' Lady's Territory spell!"

"Territory?" Muses the Dragneel, hands clasped together. "That's Space Swapping Magic."

I say in relief, "Wondered where you were!"

Rogue tells as he trembles in pain, "I don't have enough strength left to fight alongside you. But M' Lady sent me for delivery. So eat me!"

The Dragneel gasps at this as Sting and I were surprised.

"Say what?!" Sting asks, confused. "You mean...?"

Shadows swirl towards Sting as Rogue says, "You're hungry, aren't you? So I want you to consume the rest of my magic power!"

Sting tells him, "But I can't eat a different type of magic! It's not gonna work." He then starts devouring Rogue's shadow. "Might as well try since I'm starving!!"

The Dragneel says, body glowing white, "There are three primary desires that drive humans. The first one is sex, then there's food, they're all eventually followed by sleep. That is the final desire I shall grant you." He slowly holds his right hand out to the side. "The gift of sleep. To be more precise, what I offer is eternal slumber."

Sting finishes devouring Rogue's shadow.

Sting yells in frustration, "I've heard about enough of your crap!!" The left side of his body is black and the right is white. There's a flare of magic power that causes rocks to fly up as Rogue collapses.

I choke back a sob as I drop to my knees beside Rogue and I pull him into my lap. I take his hand in mine and squeeze it tightly, which he instantly returns. My Ether Form fades.

"And I hate the way you smell! It's burning up the hair in my nostrils!"

"The fact that a wee, insignificant person has the gall to challenge me makes me want to vomit."

Sting says to his friend, "Hey, Rogue! Thanks for the power!"

Rogue smiles as he urges, "Now, go, White Shadow Dragon."

Sting says, smirking, "I've got a fire in my belly."

"Into the next desire, one you will not be able to resist: this spell is known as Rest In Peace," Says the blonde man.

Sting retorts, "Call it whatever you want! But you're still gonna lose!"

The blonde Dragneel says, "Once I've ended your life, Natsu Dragneel will be the next one to perish."

Sting demands, hooding his eyes, "Are you trying to get me more fired up?! 'Cause whether you like it or not, that's what's happening!"

The two glare at one another.

Sting says, "I've spent way too many years trying to get to Natsu's level. So I'm not gonna let a teme like you get in my way!"

His eyes closed, the brown eyed man says, "My aim is to purify Natsu's tarnished soul with my own hands." He looks back at the Sabertooth guild master. "Your delusions of grandeur won't be enough to stop me."

Sting says, "I've got real power! And whenever I combine it with Rogue's, I wield the essence of Sabertooth!!"

The battle between the blondes rage on.
