Chapter 16: Warnings

"I-i... Uh... "

Kuroshiro frowned. "...I'll tell you later in private... Leave me alone for a bit..."

Stein stared, and sighed. "Fine." He then shrugged, and left.

"Just go kill yourself. Not like someone cares."

Kuroshiro sighed. "...(y/n) does..."

"Yeah, but when she finds this out, she'll wish you're dead."

"Leave me alone..." He mumbled, frowning as he lowered his head down.

"You're already alone, dumbass."

He flinched at the words, and looked away. He sighed, and continued walking.

"I'm not alone... (y/n) said I'm not..."

"Kuroshiro-kun !" You ran up to your meister, making him blink. "Yep ?" He asked with wide, innocent eyes, munching on chocolates.

"I'm... Uh... I'm not going home early tonight.."

Kuroshiro blinked, then tilted his head slightly. "......Why...?"

"Welp," You grinned widely. "Blackstar said he'll bring me somewhere ! I think it's nothing much, but... Well, it's him, so..."

"...Oh..." Kuroshiro smiled, and nodded happily. "Okay... I hope you enjoy..."

"Great !" You hugged him tightly, and giggled. "Thank you ! So, uh... Tsubaki offered to be with you in the apartment... You know, so you wouldn't be alone ?"

"He's already alone."

"Fck you."

"Well... Sure." Kuroshiro nodded, smiling brightly. "Thank you."

"Yay then !" You laughed. "See ya !" You then ran off.

Kuroshiro watched with a sigh, looking down at his bag of candies. "...They said these stuff would make people happy..." He mumbled, frowning.

"See ? She doesn't care ! Now, go die, so I can use your body."

"I'm not letting you use my body for anything bad." Kuroshiro grumbled, walking off. "Especially if it can harm (y/n)."

"That's so sweet of you. But one day, you'll give up--and I'll have you."

"Over my dead body." He replied strictly, sighing and heading to Stein's office. "Now then..." He knocked, waiting.

Stein soon opened the door, and smiled at him. "Oh. Here you are ! Kuroshiro Tarinai. The happiest and most mysterious kid in DWMA."

Kuroshiro rolled his eyes, making Stein laugh. "Come in."

As soon as Kuroshiro stepped in, Stein closed the door, and locked it. "There. No disturbances." He sighed. "Now then... Tell me."

Kuroshiro sat on one of the infirmary beds, holding a pleading stare. "...Please, don't tell (y/n)..."

"Of course." Stein sat on his chair, and rolled over, stopping in front of him.

"Remember that mission we took ? Where we had to go to a time portal ?"

"Yup."

"There was an angel there. That angel... She can't move. Not unless you take your eyes away from it. Even blinking is enough for her to move. Then, she forced (y/n) back to her human form, paralyzing her for minutes. My eyes were hurt from staring for so long, so I had to blink. And when I did, she already had her hand around my neck. Her eyes are glowing red, and it's... Really creepy."

"...Go ahead." Stein mumbled, starting to take down notes.

"But then, the snake bit again. It was painful... I passed out. And when I did, I found her in my soul's realm. That gloomy room inside me. She's there. Her name's Kuro. She killed the snake... In exchange of me letting her stay inside her. I have no choice though... Cause she knows I love (y/n)... And she threatend to shut her wavelength down to kill her. So..."

"You decided to let a kishin stay inside you." Stein sighed. "...I can't blame you. It was obvious what you were going to choose... But, Kuroshiro... If things don't work out between you two... Your wavelengths would go out of sync. And if she, or you, is angry enough, it'll be on the person's hands to cut you off. And if the person does... It'll be a lot of work to get it back connected again."

Kuroshiro frowned, before giving a small nod. "...I'll keep that in mind... Thank you for warning me."

Stein sighed, patting his head. "I like your skills, Kuroshiro, but... That kishin inside of you... It's dangerous." He made a small shrug. "I can't help you with it, but I can warn you." He smiled. "You're one of the best students I have and I don't want to lose you, okay ?"

Kuroshiro looked up at him, and smiled, nodding. "Okay."

"Well then." Stein stood up.

"It's late. Go home now."
