Chapter 25: Inner Hatred

"Ugh..."

Kuroshiro opened his eyes, squinting slightly because of the bits of light coming through his window. But it only took him seconds to recover...

Sitting up, he looked around, yawning heavily. "...I feel like I've rested so much..." He thought, looking around. It was still his room...

But, he can hear chatter outside. Kuroshiro turned to his clock, confused of course... "...Wait, 11:30...? Ugh... I've slept for hours..." He thought with a small frown, before catching the scent of freshly fried eggs from the kitchen... Which happened to be just outside of his room. Kuroshiro's stomach growled, so he decided to stand up and go see...

"So tell me, (y/n), why do you think he's acting weird ?"

"...That voice... That's Blackstar..." Kuroshiro thought, before going over to his door. "...Why is he here...?" Then, he placed his ear against the wood, listening silently.

"Well... He wakes up really late... And sleeps late, too. At midnight, I can hear shuffles from his room... Also, he eats lesser than before. He eats half a plate each day, but he usually eats two wholes... He stopped being so energetic..."

Kuroshiro looked surprised, before frowning. "...She noticed, huh..." He thought, before turning away. "Tch... Now she's worried..."

But then, he heard a small chime from under his bed. He looked confused, before seeing the slight glow... It was the orb.

Kuroshiro sighed deeply, and crawled over to it. Then, he took the glowing orb, tapping it.

Medusa's face quickly shone in the orb, with a smug grin across her lips. "You still have time right now, Kuroshiro. While you slept, I sent the snake to threaten Lord Death. Spend your little day off with your beloved for now." Spoke the said witch before waving her hand.

"Take it, because this will be the last."

As she said those words, a small snake suddenly morphed out of the orb. Kuroshiro gasped in surprise, eyes wide as he stared at the snake.

"This will help you accomplish your mission much more faster."

The orb's glow disappeared and the snake... Slithered it's way in Kuroshiro's gaping mouth--making him inhale sharply and drop the orb. But it was too late to resist...

So, gagging and trying to take the snake out, Kuroshiro backed away to the wall. "A-ack...!" He grunted out of effort, quickly placing his hands around his neck and gripping it tightly, feeling the way the snake slowly slithered inside him... If it gets past his throat, he knows something bad will happen...

He strangled himself in attempt to stop the snake, but sadly, the snake didn't give up. It struggled even more to get in him... So, Kuroshiro had no choice--he was running out of air...

His grip loosened, and the snake successfully slithered in all the way through his throat. The feeling made him gag, and roll his eyes upwards. "A-agh..." He coughed, closing his eyes and breathing heavily, feeling the snake make it's way to his soul...

"Damn it..." Kuroshiro cursed through his head as he slid down to the ground, laying down and slowly opening his eyes... Which unknowingly flickered to violet and went back to green. He continued his heavy pants as he held his chest, staring at the space in front of him.

"...Hatred..."

Kuroshiro thought as he started hearing quick footsteps from outside his room. But he didn't seem to pay attention...

"...This snake... Makes me feel hatred..."

"Kuroshiro ?! Hey, what happened here ?!" (y/n)'s voice said as the door flew open, revealing his worried weapon. "Are you okay ? What happened ?" You asked again, rushing to his side and gently raising his upper body.
