Chapter 17: Orb

"So... What would you like to eat ?"

Tsubaki asked, smiling at him. Kuroshiro turned to her, and smiled back. "...Nothing. I'm full... I... I just want to sleep."

"Huh ?" She blinked. "But... You came here a bit late and you only ate chips for lunch... Are you sure...?"

"Yup !" Kuroshiro smiled brightly, nodding. "Enjoy your sleep, Tsubaki... Good night." He then stood, and went to his room.

"...Well... Okay then..."

Tsubaki frowned a bit, but smiled in response, nodding and going back to cleaning the place.

Kuroshiro sighed, closing the door behind him and locking it, before looking at his window.

There was a violet orb place on it, floating. Kuroshiro made a sigh. He knew what the orb was.

He took it, and sat on his bed.

"...Nothing's been strange in the academy..." He mumbled, curling up and hugging his knees, placing the orb on it. "But there'll be a dance next week... I forgot the date, but I think it's monday... That's all."

He then placed the orb back floating on the window. He knew they can listen to it, the orb is a recorder.

"All alone again. Sigh."

"Shut up..." Kuroshiro sighed, closing his eyes and...

"You know that may happen."

"What would ?"

He opened his eyes again, only to see himself in his soul's realm. That same red and black room again...

"That. The thing Stein told you."

"How can you be so sure ?" Kuroshiro sat on his usual chair, legs crossed as he placed his chin on the back of his hand, as if looking smart and, well, sexy.

"If (y/n) finds out that you're spying for Medusa, that'll happen for sure." Kuro said with a snicker, leaning down to his left side and leaning her face closer to his ear. "And you know that, don't you ?"

Kuroshiro turned his gaze to her, and glared. "...So what if I do ?" He said in an angry tone, before moving his face away. Kuro then placed a hand under his chin, gently pulling him back to face her again.

"The thing is, you're SCARED."

Kuroshiro growled, pushing her away. "Leave me alone !" Kuro took small steps backwards, her wings, darker than night, fluttering slightly. She then made a grin, crossing her arms. "If I were you, I'd end things early. So no one gets hurt, and things won't get worse. Then run away." She shrugged.

"No." Kuroshiro sighed. "You don't understand. I love her. I'm happy enough staring at her... This--this little bond, the partnership bond between us, I'm so lucky with it. I'm done running off from everything. Fearing everything. Medusa, happiness, you... (y/n)... I'm done running away from bullsht !" He stood up, walking to the door.

"It's time for me to accept myself, and time to have what I want and deserve. Even if consequences get worse, I. DON'T. CARE." He grabbed the doorknob, and walked outside the room.

"...It's limited, but... I want to be happy with her."

"Kuroshiro ! Up now, Kuroshiro. School time !"

You shook your meister awake, who only yawned. "...Already...?"

"Yup." You sighed. "Tsubaki told me about you not eating ! Are you okay ?" You crossed your arms, frowning at him.

Kuroshiro blinked, and only smiled. "I'm sorry. I promise not to do that again~! Now, school~! Yay !" He stood up and ran off, going to the bathroom.

You blinked, and laughed, watching him. "Well, good !" You made a smile, and entered his room to... Clean it. Of course, it's messy. That wasn't new.

You sighed, cleaning his room and noticing the floating orb on his window.

"...Huh ?"
