"IMANI WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" I hear my mother yell from the doorway. At the sudden loud noise, I jump up and frantically look around.
When my eyes land on her I groan and put my head back on the pillow before speaking. "Why are you waking me up so early on a Sunday."
"See that's where you're wrong it's 8:30 and a Monday." She says making my eyes snap open.
"WHAT!" I yell jumping out of bed but tripping as my blanket was twisted and wrapped around my ankle. I fell to the ground with a 'umpf' making my mom laugh.
I glare up at her getting off the floor and throwing my blanket on the bed. "Why didn't you wake me?"
I ask her running to my closet to pick out something to wear. "Woah don't blame this on me especially if you want a ride to school."
She says walking away from my room. I sigh loudly throwing on a pair of light-washed jeans and a hoodie that smelled very familiar.
But I don't have the time to check now, I gotta go. I run into my bathroom and quickly brush my teeth and wash my face.
I remove my bonnet and mentally jump off a bridge at the sight of my hair.
I spray my hair a little before slicking it back into a smooth bun. I quickly do my edges, what If I'm gonna be late at least be somewhat fashionably late.
I run out of the bathroom and slip on a pair of forces before grabbing my bag, phone, and airpods and hightailing it down the stairs.
I swiftly grab a granola bar and some other snacks stuffing some into my bag before ushering my mother out of the house.
"Jeez I'm going," She sarcastically says entering the driver's seat.
I hop into the passenger seat stuffing half of a granola bar in my mouth. I hear my mother laugh beside me as she takes off down the street but I ignore her.
Before I knew it I was at school. I quickly kiss my mom's cheek before bidding her goodbye, "Thanks for the ride ma, ill see you later love you." I say opening the car door.
"Love you too munchkin!" She yells before pulling off. I sigh before sprinting up the steps and into the building.
I rush up the stairs to the location of my second-period class. Approaching the door I do three gentle but firm knocks.
I hear the teacher pause her speech before footsteps near the door. I sit there anxiously waiting, ever since I've gotten here I've stayed out of trouble mostly at least.
My thoughts are delayed as the wooden door swings open and I'm greeted by the grouchy face of my chemistry teacher.
"Your late." She states.
Well, no shit man. That is what I wanted to say but refrained from doing son.
I resist the urge to roll my eyes and compose myself.
