Chapter Four

Roman's P.O.V

After Logan fires a fireball against one target I do the same against another.

"Ha! Mine was much more powerful!" I say smugly.

"Don't be so cocky. You aren't next in line to lead your family. So you've had more time to practice," Janus says.

"Maybe but I'll take the win because I worked hard to get this strong," I tell him.

Logan rolls his eyes and crosses his arms before looking around. When he smiles softly I turn to see what he sees.

"Patton," Logan says, lowering his arms. "Are you done with your work?" he asks Patton.

"I am," Patton says.

"Let's head to the library. Roman. Is that okay?" Logan asks.

"Sure. Go, nerd it up," I respond. Logan shoves me lightly. I laugh as I just barely push him toward Patton.

The two of them leave. "We'll see you later Roman," my brother says.

"You're leaving? Who's gonna practice with me?" I ask with a slight pout.

"Find one of the servants to help you," he says before leaving with Janus.

I sigh and take a look around. Hmm. What should I do? I wonder what Ollie is doing. Still working most likely. Oh well. I'm bored and Ollie is the only other person I like here at the manor. I make my way outside where Ollie is usually doing laundry at this time.

As I'm walking I mess around with some fire magic. Just making little figures with the flames. I reach the side of the manor and spot him. He's not alone.

He's laughing, pointing at another guy. I don't think I've seen him around. Wait. As I get closer I notice it's the servant who was with Patton during breakfast. He looks about my age. Wonder what he's like. Not that it matters. He's just a servant. It's nice to have someone else my age though. Maybe he'll be interesting.

"Ollie!" I call out. As soon as I call his name he turns to me.

"Master Roman. Is there something you need?" he asks.

"I'm bored so I'm stealing you for a few hours," I tell him. His magic is decent so I'll have someone to practice with.

"I'm teaching the new guy though," Ollie says.

"I've pretty much got this down and you said this was the last thing we had to do today. I can finish up so that you may accompany Master Roman," the new guy says.

"Are you sure Virgil?" Ollie asks.

"I'm sure," Virgil says with a small smile.

"Alright. Come find me if you need anything," Ollie tells him. Virgil nods. I tug Ollie with me.

"So we have a new servant?" I ask just to make conversation.

"Yeah. Virgil officially started today," he responds. I nod.

"You're going to spar with me," I tell Ollie.

"Okay. I've been practicing so I'll be a bit better than last time," he says.

"That's what I like to hear," I say, grinning.

Hours pass by and it's time for dinner. I make my way to the dining room where everyone should already be. I enjoyed sparring with Ollie. His magic's coming along.

I reach the dining room and open the doors. Just as I suspected, everyone else is already here. All except my father.

"Where's dad?" I ask Remus as I sit down.
