note: tw! hanni is just your overall quiet and weirdo classmate

"oh hi pham, it's nice to see you again today. isn't it so early?" y/n lets out an airy laugh, making herself comfortable in the seat available inside their cafeteria. hanni looks up at her, eyes sparkling at the sight of her classmate, her lips upturned into a sweet smile.

"yeah, yesterday i woke up earlier than usual and realized i can save more time doing school work here at school than in our house." hanni answered, pushing the loose strands of her hair behind her ear. hanni felt her blood boil to her face, the state coming from y/n burning right in front of her.

"that's nice to hear, it gets lonely here whenever i finish table tennis training." y/n stated, shuffling her paddle bag she uses in playing table tennis. y/n's eyes sets on her paddle, then she places her school bag on the table between her and hanni, before burying her paddle bag inside her school bag that she carries everywhere she goes.

doing all of this made her completely unaware of hanni's stare burning in her side profile, having no idea of the growing infatuation her classmate has on her.

hanni blinked when their eyes met.

"anyway, do you have any ballpen i can use for today. i totally did not 'forget' to buy one." y/n laughs at her own sarcastic joke, and hanni flushes at the attention.

hanni has heard from other classmates that y/n is certainly the type to go to school without a pen, papers and has only a binder where she keeps all her notes at but still manages to get in the top students lists.

maybe because of how hanni sits at the end corner of their classes, she only gets these information from her seatmates.

all of her interaction with y/n had mostly come from their small conversation in group works or whenever y/n would ask her for notes.

but it didn't stop her from growing a certain attraction for the girl, it's just inevitable.

hanni immediately picks a newly bought pen from her pouch where she keeps all her pens, y/n looks at it and smiles and hanni swore she could hear the other girl's breath and heartbeat.

it's thumping loud inside her ears.

y/n pulls the pen from hanni's hand, a flicker of electricity sent shivers down to hanni's spine when their fingers touched and that small skinship sent rivers of toxics running down hanni's veins to her brain.

her breath hitched.

"thanks pham, trully appreciated. i'll give this back just the way i borrowed it, promise!" y/n smiled at her and leaned on the table, and for that short moment, hanni felt like she was the star of her own life for the first time— she wasn't just any background character in everyone else's life, she actually felt like she had a role in life other than being the girl by the end of the room.

"promise..." hanni whispered.

hanni doesn't remember when she started taking the same train as y/n home, when she started entering the station the same time as y/n, but right now all that matters is y/n's fragrance surrounding her as she stood behind y/n, without the girl even knowing.

it's weird, it really is— even hanni knows it herself and she's not the one to deny.

following someone home? taking the same ride that doesn't even lead her to her own house?
