note: sorry if this lowkey suck i rushed, still not finished w/ my sullyoon draft.
today, haerin's afternoon classes starts at 1:10pm, homeroom class - the schedules were changed at the start of their second semester, along with the classes she's taking, the teachers were also changed, but the classmates and everything else remained pretty much the same as it did during the first semester. haerin sits on a bench near their school's playground for elementary students and pre-school pupils. next to her left is her friend, eunchae, and to her right is kyujin - kyujin is from the same class as her while eunchae is from the class in the morning.
since it's only 12:45pm, eunchae decided to stay for a while after their dismissal to eat lunch with her friends and to basically tell stories about morning classes and the school works that they have been working at. so, after eating lunch they decided to sit and stay at the benches to wait for the bell to ring.
"and so i just got the news from other classes, they said that mr. koo will come up with a surprise quiz about the formulas we've used in statistics in the past few quarters of school." eunchae continued, blabbering about their most hated teacher in statistics, who would always leave work and doesn't give much effort in teaching. kyujin nodded, very attentive in listening whilst haerin just sat and stared at her friend.
"and then what? did you guys have a quiz too?" kyujin asked, to which eunchae nodded and clapped her hands. "as i said, i got the news pretty early so i studied and started memorizing formulas just yesterday as soon as i got home and we had a quiz today, i'll say i'm a bit confident with my result." eunchae smiled, and haerin blinked.
"did y/n know about it?" haerin asked, earning her friends' attention.
"i don't think so, but knowing her - she sits right on top of the class, so i'm not surprised if she did well." eunchae answered, kyujin nodded with pursed lips. "yeah right, she's a solid top scorer there for sure."
"do you guys have statistics today?" eunchae asked, haerin looked at kyujin and kyujin shrugged before whipping out her phone to look at their schedule before shaking her head.
"no... we only have general biology 2 for today." kyujin said, eunchae nodded. "actually, can you guys update me on general biology? since classes are about to finish, i feel like there's gonna be a special recitation." eunchae smiled at her friends, kyujin nodded as she turned to look at haerin, who was busy staring at nothing but thin air.
when they got to their classroom, the duo were greeted with a half-full classroom, students crowded to some corners talking to their friends and some were just at their seats, minding their own business. kyujin tapped haerin's shoulder and went to her seat, leaving haerin to walk towards her with her usual slumped shoulders.
placing her bag on the floor, her eyes were met with a sticky post-it on the metal underneath her desk's surface, it's bright neon orange with a neat handwriting. haerin immediately pulled it off and read it, eyes scanning the bright blue ink and the owner's words written below.
hi, good afternoon, to the other owner of this seat :D (i hope you have a good day)
ps. sorry my seatmate eunchae forced me to do this.
haerin stared at the post-it, blinking slowly.
eunchae does seem like the type to force someone to do something stupid, haerin folded it and buried it in her pocket, planning to throw it in a trash can after classes.
she knew absolutely no one in the other class they shared this room with, besides eunchae, her long time friend and y/n, her crush.
she doesn't even have any idea where y/n sat, eunchae clearly never told her.
