don't say goodbye,
see you later.

minji enjoys reading books, it's like her favorite past time besides scrolling on her phone for hours, her friend haerin had got minji into the reading world and would always recommend books of various genres for minji to read, that's their bonding; just watching book analysis and reviews and giving out their own opinions. minji has her own fair share of favorite genres, one of them has to be romance, the others are mystery and non-fiction, some of the things she can learn from.

speaking of romance, minji liked friends to lovers the most, besides the typical strangers to lovers romance troupe, which is obviously not that special because that's just how romance works even in real life right? but something about the thrill of waiting, the anticipation of slow burning of the feelings the two main characters harbor for each other always has minji stuck on her seat, eyes glued on the page and following each line of sentences.

it's so corny, so repetitive but minji liked it, it's her forbidden fruit that she would always have and tell herself "this is the last time" yet she finds herself indulging over the same line of plot over and over again.

one can always name her, the connoisseur of romance books, because she can talk about all the things she dislikes and likes about them, the things she is most fascinated with - and the kind of love she would always cherish.

but the problem is, minji had never been in a relationship before.

it's not like all her flings failed, her situationships ending with no developments, her having a bad charisma and lack of confidence to strike a conversation with the person she's most interested in.

it's just that - she never had any interest in being in a relationship before, it's almost like there is a certain pressure that keeps her grounded from being in a serious relationship with someone. many people, including her friends' jokes about her being aromantic, and that she's gonna grow up alone and sad - it doesn't worry her, not a bit because she believes it's just not her time yet.

maybe?

she's definitely open, if not willing to be in a relationship, maybe the only reason why she's not interested yet is because she hasn't found the right person to be with. lots of girls - even boys, have confessed their feelings for her, wishing to be able to date her but none of those were reciprocated. she doesn't spend time talking with other people too, she doesn't even have a fling!

it's just that maybe that person is still not introducing themselves in her life yet.

or she hasn't realized it yet.

"let's go get some bread in the cafe later." hanni said as they walked in the corridor of their school, passing by different rooms that are now empty after almost an hour into their dismissal. minji hummed, eyes focused on the empty halls, the window by the end of the corridor - that showed the grayish skies that were filled with soft clouds.

hanni, haerin, hyein and danielle are her four friends she made in her years studying at this school, ever since her third year of middle school, she met hanni, then danielle on her first year of high school, haerin in her third and hyein in her third; which is this year.

high school is about to finish with just one year left for her, she's bound to step on the barriers of college where she expects life is about to be harder than it is now - and she's not happy, at least she tries to.

even if she tries to conceal the feelings of longing for her friends, it would never be that easy, every night she overthinks the possibilities, the failures of life ahead of her, she isn't even decided of what field of carrier she's gonna take, and just thinking about it - she's already in vain.
