[3] Royal Complications

[LUNA's POV]

6 days until the Royal Parade.

The next day when I woke up, my mother, Draven, wanted me to go fetch her a red small crystal from a deathgripper missing his right eye who was a trader. I flew down from our Den and entered the main part of the Kingdom. I followed her directions, but it was concerning when her directions had led me to a cave that was isolated from public view.
...Something doesn't feel right.
I thought to myself. But I knew what would happen if I didn't come back to my mother with the crystal she wanted, so I nervously went inside.

It was dark, very dark. The only light that was in the cave was the light coming from the entrance. I walked slowly forward, getting deeper into the cave until I saw a lit candle up ahead. I also saw the Deathgripper sitting, watching me closely with the red crystal in a necklace around his neck.

The Deathgripper did not look like any ordinary Deathgripper. It was much bigger and had a much more spikier tail. His tail looked similar to a Deadly Nadder. I spoke to the Deathgripper after getting a bit closer.
Luna: "...Are you the trader that's supposed to give me that red crystal?"
Deathgripper: "Indeed I am."
The Deathgripper stares at me, as if he's expecting something.
Luna: "T-the crystal, please".
Deathgripper: "You truly don't know who I am, do you?"
I knew something wasn't right!
I don't know who this Deathgripper is, I know he isn't an ordinary Deathgripper, but that sentence alone makes me aware that I'm not safe here.

But what do I do?

I've never had to face a situation like this. I knew I was in danger, and I knew how to fight, but for some reason, I froze up.

The Deathgripper stood up and smiled at me. Not the same comforting smile that Nightfury gave me.

"I am the Death Stinger, the Lord of Dragons."

I heard rumors about the Lord of Dragons, I never believed in them, I never wanted to, but here he was: Standing right in front of me.

Death Stinger: "This is what is going to happen."
He nods behind me. I turn around and see three deathgrippers block the exit.

Death Stinger: "You are going to come with me, and you are going to be ransomed."
I've never liked being used for my money, and the pure thought of being used as ransoms angers me, but I'm too afraid to try anything
Death Stinger: "And if you dare resist at any point in time, Princess,"
He approach's me and stares down at me.
Death Stinger: "I will make you suffer until you wish I gave you the mercy of death."
Right before I can say or think anything, I feel something stab my neck and I pass out.

...

I wake up in a cage inside a small den.
No, no this can't be happening, this can't be happening!
I look around frantically, hoping to see some sort of exit but... there's nothing.

I breath slowly for a few minutes, trying to calm myself down, but my body keeps shaking, fearful for what's to come. I look outside and see the blue sky and clouds I always saw when I looked up from the river inside The Hidden World.

...Wait, where am I?

I knew I was in a cage inside someone's den, but I wondered to myself now,
Am I outside The Hidden World?
I looked around the entire den. Nothing about this place seemed familiar, and thinking about it with rationality now, it wouldn't make sense to have me trapped in such an open area.
I HAVE to be outside The Hidden World. Part of me somehow finds that as a good thing, a way for me to finally see what's out here, and the rest of me is even more scared then I was before since now I know I'm in a place where I know nothing about.

I decided to try and fall sleep again, as I couldn't handle all the emotions that were going through my mind.
Why me, why couldn't my mother sent the only daughter she actually cares about to learn how it's like doing business?
Then, the thought comes to me.
Was I used as a test?
I stopped thinking, and fell asleep after a very bad feeling of abandonment fills my body.

I'm here alone...

[TOOTHLESS'S POV]

I've was laying down by the river at night fishing when I heard something fly above me. I immediately looked up and saw a few Deathgrippers. I immediately got up, preparing to fight them as needed. I lost my own family to these dragons, I won't lose my life to them as well!
...but they just keep flying upward towards the exit of The Hidden World. I watch them cautiously, wanting to make sure they fly out before laying back down until I see a Deathgripper holding Luna who seemed to be asleep.
Luna?!
They must've taken her, they must've drugged her, I can't let them take her!
I start flying upwards. As a Nightfury, I'm gifted with natural speed as I start getting closer and closer to them quickly. But then I see him:
The Lord of Dragons.
I immediately dove down onto the nearest tree and hid. I wanted nothing more but to help Luna, but I knew if I challenged the Lord of Dragons that I would be killed. They flew out of the Hidden World. I sat there thinking to myself.
...I promised Stormfly I would wait, but I can't just let them hurt Luna, I WONT let them hurt her.
I was confused at my own dedication to ensuring she stayed safe but ignored it as I flew up silently and began to follow them.

They stopped at a den and dropped Luna off. I decided to wait a few hours to see if they would leave. Two of the Deathgrippers leave and the Lord of Dragons, while the last Deathgripper stays.

I wait for a few more hours, watching the Deathgripper. He finally turns towards the cave and enters it.

Luna, I'm coming to save you.
