[8] Proper Introductions

[TOOTHLESS'S POV]

I brought Luna to me and Stormfly's den and told her she could stay with us for as long as she wanted to. Of course, the moment she and Stormfly met, Stormfly immediately got to teasing me.
Stormfly: "So this is that dragon you couldn't stop daydreaming about?"
Toothless: "Stormfly! Not with her here!"
I growled and looked away, embarrassed. Luna laughed and smiled at me.
Stormfly approached Luna and whispered something in her ear as they both laughed after.
Toothless: "What's so funny?"
Stormfly: "Don't worry about it. Anyways, the parade is tomorrow morning."
Toothless: "Do we still plan on going outside The Hidden World?"
Stormfly: "With the Deathgrippers actively searching for you?"
Toothless: "...Good point."
Luna: "Well, I shouldn't really be seen at the parade since, y'know."
Stormfly: "We can watch from a high cliff near where the parade will be hosted, our own little parade after a little fun."
Luna: "I wouldn't mind that!"
We all laughed again. It was great being with Stormfly and Luna at the same time.
Stormfly: "Oh, there was an accidental collapse in the spare room we had Toothless, guess you and Luna will have to stay in the same room."
She winked at me without letting Luna see.
And this is why I hate Stormfly.
I shook my head while smiling, of course she did that, just to force me to spend more time with Luna. Not that I minded.
Stormfly: "We should all get some good sleep so we can endure the boring parade tomorrow."
She walked to her room as I led Luna to mine, well I guess now ours.

We both laid down next to each other.
Toothless: "Well, since we got this time alone together until we go to sleep, would you mind telling me more about yourself?"
She looked surprised for a second then smirked.
Luna: "We've been together for nearly a week and we never properly introduced ourselves. ...I don't mind talking about me. Before we met, I mean."
She stayed silent for a few seconds before starting.
Luna: "I was as you know royalty, I was a heir to the crown. My father, Appius, and my mother, Draven, never really liked me much due to how different I was from our family. My sister Quella was always bratty and spoiled but since she always did what she was told to, she became much more liked then I ever was. I was more wild, more disobedient, and to them... a disappointment."
I looked at her with sad eyes. I already felt bad for her despite her only being a minute into her story.
Luna looked at me and smiled.
Luna: "...Till a certain big stupid Nightfury showed me I wasn't one."
I smiled back. It felt good knowing I had made her feel better about herself.
Luna: "So that was my reputation. Royalty, but a disappointment to the crown. I was really only disliked and the only times anyone showed affection towards me was in an effort to get rich from me. I didn't like talking to people much after the whole -Luna's a disappointment- trend started."
I nuzzled against her.
Toothless: "You got me now, Luna. You always will."
She blushed and was obviously pretty moved by my gesture.
Luna: "T-thank you, Toothless."
She looked at me curiously.
Luna: "What about you? Whats your story?"
I wasn't entirely sure if I should tell her or not at that moment. I knew she was someone I could trust but it felt like something was just... holding me back.
Luna: "If you don't want to-"
Toothless: "I'll tell you, just.. promise you won't tell anyone, no matter what."
Luna: "I promise."
Toothless: "Well... when I was young, very young, Nightfury's were in low population but weren't nearly extinct yet. I had loving parents who supported me and taught me. ...Until that day."
I took a deep breath and then continued my story.
Toothless: "A group of Deathgrippers ambushed my parents and I, and killed them both. I was able to hide using a move my mom told me, making my scales reflective to turn myself practically invisible. I tried so desperately to -wake- them up, but they.. never moved."
I tried to prevent myself from crying as I remembered the image of seeing both my parents dead in front of me, and my young self trying to get them to wake up.
Toothless: "And.. and then, something happened to the other Nightfury's, they must've been hunted... I was the last one, and no one treated me like the others. I was harassed, picked on, everything, for being the last of my kind. It just..."
I couldn't hold it back anymore as tears went down my face and as I looked down at the ground trying to hide them.
Luna: "Toothless..."
Luna moved the tip of her tail under my chin and lifted it slightly until we were both looking into each others eyes.
Luna: "I'm here for you too, just how you are here for me, you know that right?"
I nodded slowly.
Luna: "Good, now come here, you stupid Nightfury."
She kissed and hugged me.
Luna: "...It sounds like both of us have had a hard time growing up, but together, we'll make our futures great."
I smiled, greater then I ever had before. This dragon was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with, I knew this even greater then I did when we kissed by the river now. She smiled back. I laughed, then said:
Toothless: "I'm never letting you go."
She smirked and responded:
Luna: "If you can't leave them, join them, right?."
We both laughed and then laid back down together.
Toothless: "Goodnight Luna."
Luna: "Goodnight, you big stupid Nightfury."

And we both fell asleep.

Stormfly woke us up in the morning and after eating some early morning fish, we all went to the entrance of our den.
Stormfly: "Todays the big day!"
Toothless: "Thought we were just watching?"
Luna: "Me and Stormfly decided something privately between each other~"
Stormfly: "You're gonna dance with Luna at the parade.
I was shocked, and nervous.
Toothless: "W-wait but I haven't even danced before!"
Stormfly: "Just go with the flow when you get to it, now let's go!"
Toothless: "Hold on-"
Stormfly and Luna fly off, laughing.
Toothless: "...Guess I'm a dancing Nightfury now."
I fly after them as we all head to the parade.
