[7] Banishment

[LIGHTFURY'S POV]

After we got back to The Hidden World, we had to separate to not bring any attention to ourselves. I wasn't even asked by my family where I'd been, and it seems the quest for the red crystal was just abandoned by my mother but I'm relieved she didn't ask any questions. What would I have told her?

I returned to my family's den and ate some fish that was left there as I sat down. I overheard that the royal parade was tomorrow.
I was gone for that long?
I wasn't exactly sure why the royal parade was being hosted besides the obvious. We usually only have them to make announcements, but there's been nothing important enough to announce to the entire Hidden World.

...

Just a bit later, the rest of my family comes together in the den and a meeting between us all is called. I hate going to these meetings, but I was practically forced to each time.

APPIUS: "I'll be getting start to the point. Luna, you've been a complete disappointment to the family."
...Ouch.
LUNA: "...What else is new?"
I looked down at the ground, trying to make myself seem less hurt by his statement then I actually am.
APPIUS: "It's gotten to the point where people don't even see you as royalty anymore."
DRAVEN: "And you failed to get me that red crystal, a very simple task that a princess somehow failed to complete.
QUELLA: "Not to mention how better I am compared to you, sister."
I've never really been liked by my family.
...But I've never had the entire family in one room all ganging up on me. I choose to stay silent, why would I say anything at all to that?
APPIUS: "Me and your mother have finally come to a decision that should've been made a long time ago. We are kicking you out of the family."
...What?!
LUNA: "W-wait, what...?"
DRAVEN: "We want you gone by midnight."
What are they even saying?!
LUNA: "But... but I am your daughter! Don't you care-"
DRAVEN: "You are a disappointment, and nothing more then that."
I stood there in shock and disbelief, then while crying I flew out of the den. I wasn't going to wait.

They just... kicked me out, just like that! No hesitation, no nothing! Just get rid of the disappointment to the family since I'm nothing else but one!
I flew quickly to the river and laid down after covering myself up with my wings and my tail. I don't know why, but I felt like I'd feel better here then anywhere else. I laid there crying to myself.
Why me?

[TOOTHLESS'S POV]

Me and Luna returned to The Hidden World but we had to get separated. I didn't want anyone seeing her with me, as I knew it'd ruin her reputation. The first thing I did, the first thing I knew I had to do, was talk to Stormfly. So, I flew down to our den. Luckily she was there with some fish. We talked for a while and I told her everything that happened.

Stormfly: "You had me worried Mr. lonely."
She smirks.
Stormfly: "Well, I guess I should start calling you Mr. Romantic instead huh?"
Toothless: "STORMFLY!"
She laughs.
Stormfly: "Sorry sorry! I know this is a stressful time for you but, I seriously didn't think you'd have it in you to kiss her twice, let alone once!"
Toothless: "I... I just had to calm her down both times and it was the best way I could think of doing it."
Stormfly: "Did it work?"
Toothless: "...yeah."
Stormfly: "There's your girlfriend, now what you'll want to do-"
Toothless: "I'm going to punch you!"
Stormfly: "Ugh, you're no fun."
She got up and circled around me, thinking.
Stormfly: "So, you've gotten involved with the Deathgrippers, even the Deadly Stinger, and you have no clue when or if they'll come for you?"
Toothless: "Well no..."
Stormfly: "Listen, I'll figure it out for you. Do me a favor and enjoy your time with Luna. Whatever you're doing is clearly working, just let your charm do it's thing."
Toothless: "...Are you being serious?"
Stormfly: "Yeah! You've only really been able to speak to me and that's because we've known each other for so long! If you continue your relationship with Luna, I think she'd be the one to get you out of your shell. I'll worry about figuring out when the Deadly Stinger will come back for you, you enjoy time with your new girlfriend."
I turned to her and smiled.
Toothless: "Stormfly, thank you, I mean it."
She smiled back and nodded towards the exit of our den. I flew out and started to look around for Luna.

...

I've been searching for nearly an hour. She's nowhere in the main kingdom, she's not even by her den, I couldn't find her anywhere! I decided to check the river. I didn't think she'd be there, but something made me feel like I should. I flew down to the river, and I see Luna curled up covered by her own wings and tail.
Is she... crying?
I slowly and quietly approach her from behind.
Why is she crying?
I start feeling bad for Luna without even knowing what had happened. I very slowly lay down in front of her.
Toothless: "...Luna?"
She moved her tail, letting me see her face and making it so she could see mine. It seemed like she had been crying a lot, and she looked like she needed someone to comfort her. I got up and got beside her as I laid my wing over us two. We both looked into each others eyes as I smiled at Luna.
She finally smiles as well.
Luna: "C-can't be sad without you doing something about it, huh?"
She laughs a bit but I can still tell she's upset by the tone in her voice.
Toothless: "I'm always going to be here for you, always."
She nuzzled against me and purred.
Luna: "...I was kicked out of my family."
Toothless: "Why?"
Luna looked down and away from me.
Luna: "F-for being a disappointment, for never getting anything right, just... being wrong..."
Hearing her speak this way about herself, no, having her tell me what everyone was describing her as made me extremely mad.
Toothless: "Luna, look at me."
She didn't move her eyes off the ground, so I got very close to her face determinedly.
Toothless: "Look at me!"
Luna finally looked up at me again.
Toothless: "You are PERFECT, do not let anyone else say anything otherwise. You are kind, you're smart, and you're the most beautiful dragon I've ever seen in my entire life. It hurts even me just hearing those words being used to describe it. You are not a mistake, you are wonderful, and you are perfect."
We both just stared at each other for a little bit until Luna finally hugs me tightly and smiles.
Luna: "...I love you, Toothless."
I wrapped both my wings around her.
Toothless: "I love you too Luna."
And then we had our third kiss underneath The Hidden World's entrance in the flowers.
