YOU WHAT?!"

"Ok, ok, I should've told you that you start next week-

"Next week?!"

"Yeah, that was a bad move too, but as I was saying, I should've told you and that's my fault. But I knew that if I told you that we would enroll you back in school, you would've said "no way no day"."

"And you thought not mentioning it would be an even better idea?" I'm trying to keep my cool by saying this through gritted teeth but I don't think I can hold back any longer so to help calm me down, I start thinking of how many ways I could murder this girl in this very moment.

"Alex, it's ok." Alina says in a quiet voice. It's the first time she's spoken since we got to the room. "School's fun...right?"

I look at her. "Maybe for you, sunshine," I say softly "but not for me."

Averill is the school I attended and (to me at least) is the definition of hell on earth.

And Colette Hugoston is Satan's spawn. Even if I understand why she kept on teasing me.

"Alex, just try it, ok?" Hayleigh says in that same soft voice I just used a few moments ago. "I know you didn't have a great experience in Averill but...it's changed?"

"Is Colette still there?" I snap.

She looks down at the floor. "Yes." She says quietly.

"Then it ain't changed."

"But...she's changed," Hayleigh says.

I look at her and start laughing. "Since when were you so gullible? It's most probably an act."

She sighs under her breath. "Alex, just give it a shot ok? You don't even have to go for very long, just for a term. 6 measly weeks."

I give her a hard stare in response.

"Please?"

I think about this for a moment. Colette was a jerk and...

"Ok." I say simply.

Hayleigh lights up and grins like she's just won the lottery. "You will, oh my God. YESSSS!!!!-"

"One on condition."

Her grin drops in a heartbeat and she's looking at me confused.

"I'll never see that place or you again."

Her confusion drops into an emotion I don't recognize. "W-Why?"

"Because I hate you."

"But-But then why'd you say yes in living with us temporarily."

"T-That's none of your business." I snap. I only say this because I, frankly, want to avoid this question as much as possible

"Ok." She says in a small voice.
