"Hello, Madeleine." She says in a voice that's too sweet to be true.
"Hello Colette." I say simply, not betraying a hint of emotion. Out of the corner of my eye I see Hayleigh standing there with a look that parents give when their child is about to do something bad.
"Isn't today simply beautiful?" Colette asks me.
"Well I would say the beginning was ok, but since you're talking to me at this moment in time, I would now say no. It's going terribly."
To my surprise, she affectionately punches my arm. "Oh my God, you're so funny." She wipes away a tear of laughter and if you look close enough, it's actually nonexistent.
I look at where she punched my arm and then back at her. "That wasn't a joke."
Her laugh dies down and she walks a few steps closer to me and puts a hand on my shoulder. "Look, I know you're mad about what happened that day, ok? But I was hoping that maybe we could move on from that." She suddenly holds out her hand. "Friends?"
I just stare at it in disgust but then I see Hayleigh's face again.
I roll my eyes and shake her hand. "Friends." I say half-heartedly.
She smiles sweetly and walks back to where her gang of Barbie dolls are waiting.
I've never been happier to go back to where Hayleigh is.
"See? I told you she was nice."
I roll my eyes. "That act was as faker than her tan."
"Listen, just try not to cause drama. Please?"
I look back at Colette walking away. "I'll try. But I'm not making any promises."
Hey guys! Back after a while and I finally finished CHAPTER 23 while I was on my school trip!
