Valor twisted and writhed, doing everything in his power to escape the forest of veins holding him suspended in the air. Although small blue flames appeared around him and burned away at his bonds, they weren't strong enough to free him.
Soraya's mother may be a Demonic Hybrid, but she's fused with Zinvi and the Blood Oak Forest. She's not completely a Demon, which explains why my Angelic powers are weak against it.
Valor's sword lay just beyond his reach, entangled in thin blue ropes that continued to snake and wind their way around the weapon until it was no longer visible.
"Let me go you bastard!" he roared at the beating heart hanging above him.
Adonia and Zinvi's eyes were wide open, their stares boring into the young man's skull.
I can't die yet! I have to kill Lord Pontiff and the rest of his Counts! A large fleshy tube slowly grew beneath the heart, stretching and oozing its way towards Valor like snot running down one's nose.
Valor struggled with all his might against the web wrapping around him but to no avail. The overgrown vein was upon him, readying itself to latch onto his forehead.
I've been so angry at the Gods for most of my life, he thought, while grinding his teeth. But they exist. The paranormal is real.
Valor attempted to dodge the fleshy tube coming at him but the veins tightened their hold on him, keeping him still.
Soraya gave me some of her Angelic Powers. I don't know how to use them, but maybe the Gods will hear me if I pray.
"Kyrie Eleison!" he cried with all his might.
The overgrown organ dug into his skin. Sharp pains rose as razor sharp teeth cut into him, causing Valor to hiss through clenched teeth. Blue Angelic flames ignited at the touch, turning parts of the fleshy tube to ashes, but the overgrown vein kept digging deeper and deeper into Valor's forehead. The Casmerahn lad gasped from the stings and cried out to the Gods again.
"Who are you?" two voices spoke simultaneously in the back of his head; one feminine and one masculine."How did you find us?"
Valor ceased his prayers and stared up at the motionless faces above in shock.
"Put me down and I'll tell you!" Valor yelled.
Much to his surprise, the forest of veins gently lowered him to the ground, allowing his feet to land firmly on the dirt before releasing him. Only the large fleshy tube stayed in his forehead despite the dim blue flames constantly eating away at it.
"I'm Valor from the House of Strix," the lad replied, his voice shaky at the unexpected encounter. "We were led down here by a man named Vega Apollyon. Are you Adonia and Amraphael Zinvi?"
