Soraya extended her hands towards Ujuu and Zaruna. "My fusions are different because of Vega," she said, her voice quivering. "They look more like Jonathan's right now."

Ujuu grimaced, but took Soraya's palm.

Zaruna's pink eyebrows furrowed, her forehead creased with empathy as she grasped the other free hand. "Ve'll make zis vork. It vill be okay."

Jonathan, Rhys, Jacquelle, Valor, and Moiya stood off to the side, all of them watching and wearing worried expressions.

Soraya, Ujuu and Zaruna wore simple black and white clothing. Their Golaytian outfits were neatly folded and sitting in the far corner of the underground chamber. No one wanted to risk getting bloodstains on them.

"We have to try," Ujuu said, his candy-apple red eyes glowing with determination. "It's the only way to sneak into Golaytia tonight without being noticed."

Vega, please cooperate, Soraya thought. We need to extract the Demonic parts of my soul and leave the Angelic parts. Help me do that without hurting them!

Jonathan removed his jet black gloves and placed them into his coat pockets. "If Vega tries anything, I'll intervene," he annunciated loudly, his voice echoing around the room.

Soraya gave a swift nod in reply, then stared ahead at her two friends. Zaruna's cotton candy curls curved around her earth-toned face, her magenta eyes squinting shut. Ujuu stood beside her, also looking nervous, his fangs biting his lower lip.

"Ssssssss..." Soraya started to say, then stopped. Her heart raced, her breathing quickening as panic settled in.

Vega, where are you?

Only silence greeted her.

"Ready?" Soraya breathed, the hairs on her spine prickling in fear.

Her friends nodded.

"Slevautza."

Soraya's entire body trembled like the disturbed surface of a pond. Her skin moved as if thousands of insects were crawling around inside, lurking just beneath the surface.

Zaruna kept her eyes shut but Ujuu's mouth fell open, a gasp tumbling out. He took a step backwards, his free hand grabbing his girlfriend's.

A sharp searing pain shot through Soraya's skull. She moaned and bowed her head, only for her crown to split open. A third, bloody arm made of veins and viscera shot out and latched onto Ujuu's face. Another hand grew from the wrist, twisting and writhing its way into existence until it grabbed Zaruna's mouth.

The Shadelkin and Rosinkin yelped before the ligaments seeped into their skin, silencing them both.

"N-No!" Soraya barely managed to cry out. "Don't hurt Ujuu and Zaruna!"
