"Who am I?" Jacob looked confused, his whole face said it. "What are you talking about, Samuel?"
"You aren't Jacob. You aren't my friend, and I know that. You act as if I don't know that.." Sam lifted his head, tears falling from his eyes.
"What? Sam, What's wrong? Why are you crying?" Olivia bent down and faced him. "Olivia, you don't know who you've been hanging out with! I know the truth, I know-"
"Alright, calm down. You obviously aren't yourself. Is this .. whole situation getting to you already?" Jacob raised an eyebrow and shook his head.
"Don't play me!! You aren't Jacob!! I saw you get.. get.." Sam immediately broke down, his words now incoherent. "Jacob, please untie him. Give him a way to wipe his tears or something.." Olivia begged.
Jacob groaned and grabbed the knife out of his back pocket. He stood up and cut the rope from off of Sam's torso and feet. He did, however, keep it around his wrists and hands so he couldn't open doors.
Jacob reached out to touch Sam's shoulder but was immediately pushed away. "DON'T TOUCH ME!"
There was silence, only silence. Olivia stepped away from Sam, to give him space. "You.. Don't you Remember?"
"Remember what?-"
"the day we skipped the hiking trail trip." Jacob opened his mouth to speak but immediately closed it to let Sam speak instead.
"You told me you liked me, you thought the field trip was stupid and boring.." Jacob listened intensely, though he was tired of hearing him talk already.
"And so we went Off the trail. I thought we were having fun. We went to a opening in the forest where you had to cross a steep hill and a small creek.." he mumbled the last few words and then took a breath in sharply.
"You wanted to Show me something and I agreed. You told me to hide behind a tree and cover my eyes, if only I were smarter." Jacob raised an eyebrow, now he was interested. What was going to happen next, He didn't expect though.
"I saw you die, Jacob. I heard when you Fell down the steep hill and.. and died. I couldn't even save you, I didn't know what to do except run away.. I.. I could've saved you."
"But you didn't." Jacob scuffed and smiled. Olivia spoke up loudly, "OKAY, what the hell?! Are you Crazy, Sam!? How would Jacob be dead if he's in front of us right now!?"
"Yeah Sam, how would I be dead?"
"Don't play innocent here. I don't know what you are or why you decided to torment me of all people, but don't you dare play innocent."
Olivia shook her Head and sighed. "Sam! Get your Senses together, man! Jacob is alive!! He's alive!! He's breathing, he's standing, he's blinking!!"
Sam Blocked out her voice and just stared at Jacob. "Well."
Jacob stood up, standing tall to the two. He fix his clothes and dropped the knife he was holding to the floor. "What are you doing?"
"I'm going to kill you. I can't allow anyone to truly know what I am. It'd Ruin my plans, y'know?" He unbuttoned his shirt and the two watched as a pitch black hand, darker than the night sky, emerged out of his chest. There was a hole where he was supposed to have a heart and lungs and a rib cage. It was black and had stitch marks around it.
"J-Jacob?" His Body Startes to twist, his bones breaking in all different directions and his eyes Turning pitch black. A oily black substance came out of his mouth and he continued to turn until he no longer Looked even remotely like Jacob..
"What.. the fuck?" Olivia gulped. "Grab. The. Gun." Sam muttered to Olivia.
Olivia wasn't hearing him though, she was shocked at what was happening and what could happen. "OLIVIA, GRAB THE DAMN GUN!"
Sam finally caught her attention But by the time He did, she was making a dash for it up the basement stairs. Leaving Sam alone to deal with this thing.
"Sam, get up here!" She whispered-yelled. He stood up quickly and ran for the gun, however the monster that used Jacob's Body, grabbed him by the foot.
Sam fell and hit his head on the corner of the table. "No, no, no!!" He was seeing Double, his head hurt like crazy but this was life or death.
He kicked the monster, however his hand just went into It's formless Body, sucking him in closer and faster.
"SAM!" Olivia ran down stairs but froze as she didn't realize what exactly to do. She could grab the gun and save her best friend since kindergarten, or she could run away and save herself..
"Let me go!" The Monster held Sam by the face, It's Body taking him in now by the torso.
Olivia immediately ran for the gun, she couldn't stand Sam screaming in pain from the monster trying to swallow his body.
"SHOOT IT, OH GOD SHOOT IT!" Sam yelled as soon as he heard the gun click.
Bang
Bang
Two shots rung out in the basement, It's Echo deafening both teens. The monster dropped Sam to the ground, leaving him able to scramble to his feet and take Olivia's hand. They ran upstairs and locked the basement door, listening as the monster screeches loudly. Maybe out of pain or annoyance, whatever it was, they needed to get far away. Right now.
The two ran outside, Olivia holding the gun tightly in her left hand and Sam's hand in her other. It was just turning night and the screeches of the monster from what seemed to be an abandoned, burnt house, became quieter and quieter as they left the premises.
After running for what felt like ages, The two finally slowed down. Making it into their small town again, just off the side of the forest and road.
Sam collapsed to his knees, one eye was open of his. The other was drooping, blood poured down his face and onto his shirt.
"Sam.. Sam are you okay?-"
"Don't.. Don't Talk to me. This was YOUR fault." He lashed out at her, tripping her and watching as she fell to the ground. He climbed on top of her and started to hit her, it wasn't until she put the muzzle of the gun in his face and he immediately broke down. He held the gun, his hands shaking and covered in dirt.
"Just kill me. Fucking kill me.. please.." he hiccuped through his incoherent sobbing. He wasn't in the right state of mind and Olivia knew that. "I'm not going to kill you, Sam. I won't do that." She felt tears roll down her face.
"You don't understand, Olivia. I killed him, I could've saved him. I loved him!! It's my fault, it's my fault.. you don't understand." Olivia pulled him into a hug and they laid there in the uncut grass, crying.
It took twenty minutes for someone to realize they were out there, it just happened to be Jacob's Family. Who lived right by the entrance to the forest.
They were bought back to their families and questioned heavily, While Olivia was able to answer questions with fake answers, Sam was unable to answer any.
