"Have you heard?"
Sam and Olivia passed by some girls who were probably gossiping about some Boy again. It's only been two days since the incident, Everything wasn't back to normal but it seemed close enough.
"Jacob is apparently back again after being gone for two days!!"
"Eeeee!! I'm so excited! Maybe I can-"
Sam put his head down and started walking faster than before. He wanted to cry and scream, Even After all of what happened, this monster wouldn't leave the town alone. It wouldn't leave Sam And Olivia alone. It wouldn't leave sam alone.
"Sam? Sam!" Olivia caught up to him, she tried walking at his pace until he slowed down to Help her catch up. "Are you okay? What happened?"
Sam took a deep breathe in and blew out, "apparently.. 'Jacob' is Back.."
Olivia gulped. "Seriously? We didn't kill it?"
"No, we didn't. And it probably is here for us." Sam muttered. "What makes you think that?"
"C'mon, seriously? I exposed it and it's plans, it tried to eat me, and then you shot it? I would be upset too if I were.. this monster."
Olivia sighed and nodded. Suddenly, Sam stopped in his tracks and seemingly winced in pain, almost loosing his balance. "Sam? Are you okay?"
"Yeah. Yeah, just .. just give me a minute." He Spoke softly, breathing hard as if he had ran a marathon.
He stood back up slowly and continue walking, this time with a slight limp in his left leg. "Are you sure You're okay?"
"Yes Olivia, I'm fine." He immediately shut her down. He's been more harsh on her than ever before After the basement situation. She understood why, however. I mean, she would hold resentment for someone who had a gun to her head and forced you to answer questions..
It was quiet. It was peaceful. The birds were chirping and the leaves of trees were rustling in the wind. It was summer, which meant summer break.
The two were going down to the river, just to sit and maybe talk. It was peaceful there and Not Many people Go in the summer as It is hot.
However, as soon as they got there, they noticed two people standing by the edge of the river. If the wind picked up a bit more, they could easily get pushed into the water.
"Should we confront them?"
Sam shook his head and continued to walk. He walked down the hill that led to the riverside. Olivia followed after and they sat on a rock quite a bit away from those people.
Sam couldn't see who it was as the sun was in that direction. He couldn't Look with squinting his eyes.
He watched out of the corner of his eye as one Person Started walking towards them. Sam felt a sense of.. fear in him when they came close.
"Hi Sam, hi Olivia." The voice was familiar. A heavy Boston accent. Sam immediately froze and noticed that Olivia almost did the same.
"J.. Jacob?" Olivia muttered under her breath. "Jacob's" height blocked the sun so they could easily look up at him now, but why in god's name would they do that?
Except, they would. Sam took a deep breath and stood up, "let's go Olivia."
He started walking away and immediately fell to the ground with a small yelp. "Sam?!"
Olivia ran over to him, helping him up slowly. "I don't want to hurt you, Sam. I just want to talk."
"Why would I EVER talk to you?!" 'Jacob' chuckled and then sighed.
"I'm still Jacob. Whether you like it or not." He sent them a smile but neither of them smiled Back. "Why do you insist on torturing us Like this!?" Sam retorted.
"Torture? Don't you think that's a little far now? All I want, is to have a normal life."
Silence followed there soon after.
Olivia, as always, broke the silence. "What do you mean by a normal life?"
Jacob looked at her. "I want to experience what you guys experience! I mean yeah, during the night I can roam around the town. But those dogs that bark when I pass by? They're ruthless."
"They're scared. And they have every right to be. Get out of Jacob's Body. He's dead and if you have emotions, you should at least respect that."
"Blah blah blah. Alright, would you prefer this?" The skin on the monster started to melt and become replaced by the clearer skin of a child. The height of the monster went down by at least three feet.
After the disgusting transformation stopped, it revealed a red headed child with freckles. She couldn't have been anymore than six..
"Wha.. what?" Olivia stared in Horror. "If Jacob was dead when you took his body, does that mean the.. the.. that child was dead?"
"I don't take the bodies of the living. If you still have a conscious, you can still fight back. However, if you dead, you can't fight back."
Sam felt like throwing up, the Body He was in was the same Body of a little girl from the next town over. Had She wondered into the forest near here and if so, how did she get so far away from home?
"C-Change back to Jacob.. I prefer that.." Olivia face was wet with tears, it seemed She was crying for the now dead girl.
"Aye aye." Both teens looked away as the monster twisted It's "Body" Back into Jacob's.
"You Said.. you wanted to experience living.. or rather, a normal life." Sam looked up at the monster. "If we give you a normal life, will you leave us alone?"
The monster smiled. "Of course, all I want is to spend this summer Like a normal human."
"Fine. We'll give you the summer to experience life but then you have to leave." Olivia's eyes widened.
"WE?!" Sam shot her a glare. "You should know, this is probably the best deal we'll get for now. If we agree to this, we have a lesser chance of making it mad and possibly hurting us or anyone else."
Sam whispered in her ear and her expression softened. "Fine. Like Sam Said, we'll give you the summer."
'Jacob' smiled and walked towards them. It wrapped it's arms around the two. "This'll be a great summer, aye?"
"Don't touch me."
"Don't touch me either."
Both teens walked away, staying close to each other. "Okay okay, Fine then." 'Jacob' caught up to them.
Just as they were going to cross the road, a black car zoomed by. "What the hell? Nobody ever visits here.. or rather, comes through here." Sam muttered.
"Was that.. Ethan?" Olivia mumbled to herself and shook her head. No way, that was impossible.
It was impossible..
