Both Olivia and Ethan had something to do today. So they were both unavailable and it's not like sam had any other friends in the town. Or rather, people who didn't think he was weird, at least.
He'd been depressed lately anyways, too much was happening all at once and he couldn't properly comprehend it all until he was able to get free time. Usually, free time ended up in him crying silently or laying in bed, staring at the ceiling.
He'd been listening to a lot of music lately. Especially songs that He knew Jacob would like if he was still alive. He found himself spending a lot of time looking at Jacob's social medias that he had.
"Samuel! You have a visitor, I'm sending him upstairs!!"
What was the point in getting out of the bed to meet whoever it was at the door? He couldn't think of a single reason, his thoughts felt like they were racing but slowing down at the same time.
There was a knock at Sam's open Bedroom door. He looked up and his eyes widened at 'Jacob' standing in the doorway, a soft smile on it's face.
Sam wasn't exactly happy to see it, more surprised and possibly uncomfortable than anything else. "Hi.."
"Sorry for Intruding, Ethan actually sent me here because you hadn't come out all day and it's almost night.." it looked down. "Can I come in?"
"Oh, Yeah. Sorry." Sam muttered and got out of his bed, he pulled a rolling chair from his desk and allowed 'Jacob' to come in.
It was silent, the two had nothing to talk about. There was a heavy pressure in the air. Everything that's happened between them just made it worse.
"So uhm.. Are you okay?"
A short burst of silence soon followed after 'Jacob's' question. It could tell by the look on Sam's face, He was no where close to okay. It racked through all of the bodies memories yet none of them shown Sam ever being this off.
It did show, his love for music, however. 'Jacob' looked around for anything, he spotted a guitar in the corner of Sam's room. It looked beat up and dusty.
"Do you play?"
"Oh uh.. no. That was.. Jacob's. Gave it to me after the talent show in 7th grade."
Right, right. Stupid, should've known that. 'Jacob' beat itself up internally for asking a stupid question like that. "Can.. Can I try to use it?"
Sam hesitated but allowed it anyways. 'Jacob' picked up the guitar and started dusting it off. The memories of The bodies past life flowed back into his mind, as if the guitar was the source of something.
It made it.. Sad? It has missed out on so much and so many good things. Yet it spent the whole time in the forest, alone and in pain. Everyone knew of it's existence but everyone was too scared to even come say hi. It's lucky it can even be around the people now.
"Are you.. crying?" 'Jacob' touched the bodies Face, tears were streaming down it's face at a fast speed. It didn't even know WHY it was crying. Did.. the old body still have a conscious? If so, how was it able to take over the body?
"Uh.. Sorry, I was thinking."
Sam looked away, he felt bad. But why? What for? This was a monster, a demon, a spirit. It was something that had tried to KILL him in a basement! It was something that took the body if his friend!
And yet, He couldn't get rid of the feeling. He felt bad for it.
"Do you.. want to listen to music?" Sam held out an earbud that was plug into his phone. "Ah, it won't reach. You'll have to sit over here."
'Jacob' sat on the bed near Sam and they shared music. They took turns playing songs and surprisingly had a good time. Sam was able to forget that it wasn't even Jacob he was sharing earbuds with. 'Jacob' was able to forget it's actual goal.
"What's that playlist?" 'Jacob' had accidentally clicked on it by the bodies finger being to close to the phone. The air became tense, the playlist had a cover picture of Olivia, Jacob, And Sam. They were all smiling and happy..
Sam immediately clicked away from it and pressed to delete it. "Wait what are you doing?"
'Jacob' grabbed his hand to stop him. "I don't need it anymore-"
"That was your friend! Don't just delete it."
"Don't tell me what to do." Sam muttered. "Didn't you Love him? Why would you get rid of those memories?!"
"He's dead!! He's fucking dead!! And you're here. You aren't Jacob, I don't even know what you are!" Sam's voice wavered into a slight yell.
"What's so bad about me being here..?"
"Everything!! I want Jacob back, My life is going downhill and it's all because we went off that day!! And now you're here and he'll never come back!! I'm stuck hearing and seeing his voice, every single damn day!! I can't stand it!! I can't stand it.."
The tension in the air became heavier as 'Jacob' took the Earbud and gave it back to Sam. "I see. I know when I'm not wanted so I'll leave."
"Huh?" Sam watched as it stood up and started to walk towards the door.
There he goes again, ruining another relationship. Even if it was a monster, it had feelings. It was.. was like a friend. And he outcasted it.
Sam stood up and ran after him, Just before he opened the door. Sam wrapped his arms around the other's body and broke into a crying state.
"I'm sorry.. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean it. Don't leave me again. I'm sorry.." his breathing became heavier.
'Jacob' was confused. Did Sam want him to leave or to not leave?
"I'm lonely. I'm so lonely. He was the first person to ever love me like I loved him. And he died. Nobody really likes me, my crush is dead.. I'm struggling.. I don't know how to cope anymore." Sam muttered as 'Jacob' pulled him into a hug.
Sam knew it wasn't Jacob. He knew that too well, but he couldn't help but feel some sort of comfort with it. How was he to cope elsewhere? Nothing felt safe anymore, he didn't trust himself, he hated everything. All he wanted was a hug and someone to tell him it was going to be okay.
It was going to be okay..
Right?
