"Took you long enough." Five said dryly as Y/n stepped through a suddenly-appearing doorway in the middle of the street.

Y/n sighed, shaking their head, "Whatever. We're still early."

Five shook his head and began moving into the building, "So, any closer to your mission of saving everyone?"

"Sort of. Elliott's moved out for now. He's in a motel." Y/n nodded, sticking their hands in their pockets as they walked alongside Five, "I've been doing calculations."

Five looked a little surprised, "I wasn't aware you knew much about maths."

"Cheers." Y/n snorted, "I mean, I do. But these were more... theoretical calculations. Like, let's do a full runthrough of everything predictable that would happen if I did x instead of y."

"Not good enough at mathematics then, clearly." He remarked sarcastically as the pair approached the elevator.

They shoved him lightly, scoffing, "Shut up. I don't need maths, I need a list of every potential event that could happen as a result of me trying to fix things."

Five smirked a little, before pressing the button and getting inside the elevator. Y/n rolled their eyes light-heartedly and joined him inside. The doors almost closed when a hand grabbed the door firmly, pulling it open.

"Wait up."Diego entered, frowning in confusion at the pair as he entered.

"Hold it!" Called Allison, rushing into the elevator, and turning around in surprise as she stood, now fully noticing the three stood inside. Klaus and Viktor quickly and quietly made their way inside almost immediately after.

"Hey, everyone." Klaus mumbled, a hip flask in hand.

"Excuse me." Luther said quietly as he entered. The elevator was absolutely crammed at this point.

"Good," Five remarked in an unplaceable tone, "we're all here." It sounded almost happy... Y/n glanced over, and there was a small smile on his face.

The elevator journey was silent and uneventful, and eventually the eight of them appeared on the correct floor. The room was empty. They stepped out, looking around.

"Alright," Five began, striding out and towards the table in the centre, "when dad gets here, I'll do the talking, okay?"

"I've got a few questions for him myself." Diego remarked, heading towards it.

Five pulled out a chair to sit down, "Hey, we don't want to scare him off, alright? He might be able to stop doomsday, get us home."

"No, Five, we need to find out why he's planning to kill the president."

"This is a matter of life and death, you imbecile." Five scowled, raising his voice slightly.

Viktor cleared his throat and held up a hand, "Okay, maybe we should all take turns talking, yeah?" He picked up a random shell from another table, "Hey, whoever has got this conch shell gets to talk."

"Vanya, we don't have time for a debate, okay?" He sighed.

"Maybe I should lead." Allison remarked, "We all know I'm a better public speaker than the rest of you." She picked up the shell and strode towards the table.

"Okay, daddy's girl." Diego muttered.

Y/n sighed, "We really don't have time for this, guys." They paused, "I don't have time for this." They grabbed Five's arm and lowered their voice, "I need to go."

He widened his eyes, frowning at them, "You have to go? Y/n, you can't just leave. We're gonna talk to dad, alright? I need you here when we talk to him."

They looked away, biting their lip, "I just... I have this feeling something is very wrong, and I need to fix it. I'll be back soon, okay?"

"Where are you going?" He frowned at them harder, "What could possibly be more important than this?"

"Elliott's." They answered, "Something feels wrong. I'll be back before you know it, yeah? Ten minutes, tops. In and out."

Five sighed, looking away briefly. He looked back at them, "Fine. Come right back."

Y/n nodded, giving him a smile before stepping through a rift that had suddenly appeared. Sir Reginald Hargreeves appeared almost the second the rift vanished.

They reappeared in the stairwell of Elliott's. They could already hear screaming from inside. "Shit." They cursed under their breath, running up the staircase and bursting in.They ran in, quickly spotting three people over by the edge of the balcony. Elliott, blood running down his face, screaming and sobbing, while two of the Swedes stood over him. All three looked at Y/n as soon as they appeared.

One of them had a knife to Elliott's throat almost immediately, "Where is Diego?"

"Yeah, that's me, what's it to you assholes?"

The other shook his head, "You're not Diego."

A memory flashed in Y/n's brain, "Okay, didn't think that would work. Hey, if you fight me and win, I'll tell you where he is." They shrugged, rolling up their sleeves.

The two looked at each other, before immediately charging at Y/n.

Y/n sucked in a breath of air, quickly dodging the knife from Otto and slamming their elbow into Axel's face. They twisted their body with it, and stumbled, tripping over the coffee table. Axel punched them and their head rocketed backwards and they let out a yelp, already starting to feel blood beginning to pour from their nose. They dodged, narrowly avoiding Axel lunching for them again, but Otto slashed with the knife, drawing a large gash through their blazer, spilling blood onto the floor. They sighed, quickly pulling off the blazer to fight better, have more movement. They threw it at Otto, who slashed at it and threw it out of the way.

They pulled out their blade and lunged towards Axel, who dodged and grappled them, and the blade dropped to the floor somewhere. Y/n got hit again. They twisted, pulling out of it and landing a kick right between Axel's thighs. As he stumbled back in pain, Otto advanced. Blood continued dripping from their arm. They glanced and noticed Elliott was still sobbing, blood gushing from his mouth and over him.

Otto slashed again and their arm was cut further up, and they cried out in pain, the wound stinging as they managed to dodge the brunt of it. Y/n's body twisted and Axel was there again, and Y/n stumbled. They hit the ground and there was a boot smashing into their ribs. They let out a loud sob as the air rushed from their lungs. Another kick. Y/n focused and a small doorway appeared, throwing them down from the ceiling instead. They twisted as they fell, landing a kick to Otto's face before being thrown back from the momentum, twisting and landing uncomfortably on the sofa. They felt the pain of their ribs stinging and found air hard to attain. Nevertheless, they quickly scrambled up.

They took a deep breath and suddenly the room was twisting into an impossible shape, constantly moving and not once making sense, not once being comprehendible. Y/n navigated it with ease, quickly rushing over to Elliott and pulling him from the chair. A doorway appeared and they stepped through it, a pang of sadness at having to leave their switchblade and blazer behind. The room returned to normal.

The pair appeared in the street outside a hospital. Elliot had apologised through sobs and a bloody mouth, explaining he had only returned because he'd forgotten something. Y/n had reassured him before pulling the both of them inside, quickly locating the A&E unit, and began screaming for help, the pair's blood still dripping onto the floor. Quickly, staff members rushed towards the pair- especially Elliott. Y/n's brain started to go hazy, and they remembered muttering something about Reginald Hargreeves covering the bill. They remembered Elliott being rushed to a separate room, while paramedics worked on treating them. They remembered after several hours, finally there was a room with Elliott in it, resting, and they sat in a chair nearby and fell asleep.
