Life was never so beautiful before for New.

When people said they were living the dream, he couldn't understand what they meant, until his dreams came true.

Until he actually saw— no, felt himself living the dream.

The dream of always wanting to see the burning sun smile at him wholeheartedly of his own accord,

And he felt like he fell in love all over again when he saw him smile at himself— the world falling slow and brightening up at the same moment.

Ever since Tay came back from wherever he went the morning of Joss's death anniversary, there was a certain peace, a certain shine and a certain liveliness in his eyes.

That day Tay had asked him for the first time,

"Are you free this afternoon?"

He thought that he was going to ask him if he wanted to go merit making together but was so surprised when he instead took him to the movie theater,

He was confused but at the same time he didn't question it. He just seemed so happy to see him talking and raving about how movies were just a tailored experience for theater only.

New knew that Tay had finally come to terms with things,

But what he actually couldn't understand was the fact that the man seemed to be more into him with each passing day,

He didn't feel like cooking? Tay ordered food or took him and dad out to dinner.

He wanted to eat the expensive ice cream the malls sold, he spent a nice quarter of his salary on that.

He just said that the casetify covers looked so cute, the next day he got one for him.

How should he take this?

Every single time Tay did a thing like this for him, he simply couldn't look at him just like a friend.

Should he take this as a sign and officially confess his feelings and ask him to let himself hit on him?

But then fear washed over him.

Thinking that the moment he would ask this, everything would crumble.

So he let it go on like this.

He could live with waking up and have pointless conversations with him everyday, to make him breakfast and eat together, doing the dishes together, going to the office together,

He was content with it.

But some where in the subconscious part of his mind, he still hoped that one day, he would be loved immeasurably by his burning sun.

Looking forward to another evening of chatting away and going back to home with him, with the intention of somehow convincing him to go grocery shopping with him today, New merrily strutted to reach the corner as soon as possible,

Butterflies flying in his stomach once again as he got giddy just thinking about seeing him smile at him,

He sped up to take his position as he heard laughter coming from the other end of the road.

He spun on his heels, brightening a little more when he recognized who it was,

Only to feel his heart getting ripped apart,

Again.

The smile draining from his features when he saw his burning sun beaming the brightest, lips stretched in the most genuine and happy smile he has ever seen on his face,
