Chapter Four

The cab stopped in front of the condominium building where Joss had been living for the past few weeks as Tay and New got down from the cab, the former eyeing the building from the second it came into vision,

Not caring about paying the fare, Tay dashed into the building as New followed soon after him,

His condo was at seventh level in the ten storey building. The reception was empty with a loo break sign sitting on the desk which Tay completely ignored as he pressed the elevator button multiple times in a fidgeting manner,

The elevator doors opened as Tay stepped in quickly, pressing the button to seventh floor and then the button to close the doors with New sliding in just before the doors closed.

Such a close call.

New internally exhaled as in those few seconds they spent in the elevator, Tay was tapping his foot incessantly and New was biting his lip, controlling his urge to hold Tay's hand to somehow calm him down.

New released a thankful but silent breath when the elevator doors opened to the seventh floor as Tay was out before New could even register.

"Seventy seven... Seventy seven... Seventy seven!"

Tay found his condo as he rang the bell then as well as knocking thrice on the door, "Joss?"

But no one answered.

Tay repeated his actions,

And no one answered again.

"Namtarn did say that he hadn't answered to anyone," Tay only now realized that New was there when he spoke up as he glanced at him, "Including her own mother,"

And New caught the worry for Joss shining in his eyes, before he turned to trying once again.

"Joss, please, open the door, it's me!"

He knocked the door once again then.

Why wasn't Joss opening the door to him?

Biting his lip, Tay raised his knuckles to knock again when his lover's words echoed in his ears,

"You know, before meeting you, whenever I would feel troubled, I would always go to a place where there was just air and me and nothing else."

Tay blinked then, several times before his mind went towards the only place where there could be just air and him here,

The rooftop.

He moved away swiftly, recalling Namtarn's words loud and clear of his suicide attempt history, he knew there wasn't much time,

"Where are you going?"

He had to save him and he would.

"Hey?"

He pressed the elevator button which opened then as he entered and pressed the button to the final floor.

"Where are you..."

And then they would convince his father about him marrying Joss. Tay was ready to do literally anything to convince his father to let them stay together without being an obstacle in their path.

The elevator doors opened once again, the darkness catching his attention as he stepped out quietly.

Turning the corner, he found him,

His heart ceasing as he saw him standing on the edge of the building.

Tay's breaths became heavy as he pressed shut his eyes,
