"If you could really choose who to fall in love with, who would you choose?"

The pacing of people around them was blocked out of their ears, for New, who had never been in his company for more than a short while, let alone twelve inches far only,

And for Tay, who just couldn't keep his curiosity about the former at bay as he kept tailing the man who was selecting from grocery to make dinner for tonight.

"Elon Musk."

It didn't take New another heartbeat shoot back as he picked up the radish and placed it in the basket,

A chuckle circled into Tay's throat that became a wince by the time it reached his lips as he hissed it out, placing a dramatic hand on his chest, "You forgot me this quick?"

New chuckled, flickering his shy eyes up at him for less than a second, "Khortoad, but I said that name because having a lot of money would probably do me good. I would take spa and massage days, take both of parents on vacations, maybe even donate to good causes."

Tay tilted his head then, catching New's face just before he turned and walked away, his leaned gaze, the soft blushing of his cheeks and the curling of his pink plump lips,

The man didn't realize his own lips stretching as he walked in his steps once again,

"When did you lose your heart to me?"

New was reaching to open the door for the frozen section when Tay asked this question, making him snap his head to him instantly and catching his gaze before looking away recalling,

The man unconsciously kept gazing at him, waiting for him patiently, blinking himself out of his reverie when New spoke, his eyes distant,

"I still can't remember when..."

The man opened the door, took the butter and closed it as he turned to walk away when the weight in his hand was gone,

"I'll carry it," New snap turned to him again as he looked between the basket and him, meeting his eyes and not being able to look away when he said, "It's getting heavier, I'll carry it from now."

And he gave him a comforting stretch of his lips before stepping forward, leaving New standing there, slipping into his little fantasy and thinking about how it felt like he was asking him to give his sorrows to him,

That he'll take it away,

He let out a breath, his head hanging then as he smiled at his dumb self,

"New,"

He felt his heart jump in his chest hearing his name from his husky but sweet voice as he looked up at him, seeing just how much better he looked as compared to bare months ago,

"Come, let's go home."

"What's taking him so long? It's already getting dark out there."

Luang sighed out as he sat leaned back on the sofa, his cheek resting on his fist. The man blinked, the front door of the house came into vision as he sighed again, waiting for his son to come home from the interview,

"His interview was in the second shift so it might be taking him time to find a transport due to rush hour."

The man sighed again, turning to New, who sat with his legs up, seemingly reading a book but Luang knew the younger hadn't switched the page for about half an hour now,

Pressing his lips, the man straightened, never letting his stare waver from him, "Do you think he would have passed?"

That had made New shift his soft eyes up at his father in law as he opened his mouth answer when the lock of the door clicked, making both the men snap their heads in the direction,
