"He agreed to go?"

Tay heard the surprise in his voice as he stood well hidden with the wall next to the threshold of the kitchen as well as the water running and the clinking of dishes,

He didn't exactly know how he ended up here in this position, eavesdropping on the conversation of his father and...

"Uh, but are you okay with the fact that I didn't tell him that it was you who initially found this vacancy?"

Apparently, during dinner his father told him that there was a company, who posted an ad both online and on newspapers, who were hiring new people of the same degree of his domain,

He had encouraged him to prepare and go for the interview because his grades were already worth it and that this opportunity came like a golden chance for him to actually start over,

"Dad,"

Instinctively, his head turned to the opening when he heard the soft voice, only realizing he wouldn't see their faces when his eyes landed on the floor,

"You know he wouldn't agree to this in first place if we told him that... It was me who found the vacancy."

He knew it.

The moment his father finished speaking he had known somewhere deep down that this idea wasn't entirely of his father's alone,

And just as he noticed the slight pain in his voice, he continued,

"But aside from everything, what matters the most is, he's healing. So what do you say, tomorrow is Sunday, let's go make merit so that he gets the job?"

"Uh, let's do that."

The conversation seemingly ended yet Tay couldn't move from his place, knowing full well he could get caught, yet it was as if his feet were glued to the floor and he couldn't lift them up when he caught,

"New,"

He turned up his face again,

"Krub?"

"Can you answer me something?"

The running of the water stopped then, "Krub."

"What... After this?"

"What do you mean, dad?"

He heard his father taking a long breath in, visualizing him wrapping his hands behind his back as he heard a sigh,

"Let's say Tay moved on, got a job, became successful but what after that? When will you confess to him? Or do you want me to give him a nudge towards you?"

"No..." That was an immediate answer before the silence took over and prolonged,

"How about..." His voice came softer but clear in this heavy silence, "We let this go as it is going? If... He happens to... Find someone else... Divorce is also an option."

And it struck at his heart, the layered agony in his voice,

"That is another case," He heard the mild frustration in his father's husky voice, "Answer me right now if you will try to make a move on him."

"Dad—"

"Yes. Or. No?"

And silence took over again, unknowingly his curiosity grew as his words echoed in his ears again,

"Taking care of his needs is my need."

"First and foremost," He blinked himself out of his thoughts, refocusing quickly,

"I understand what he's going through that even the thought of another person feels like a sin,"

And suddenly all Tay could feel as if he took a thread of his chest and pulled it gently, relieving him of everything and leaving nothing behind but serenity,
