After Hunter and the rest of the squad agreed to stay on Pabu for a few days, you've finally had a chance to relax. It's early in the morning. You and Hunter are eating breakfast at one of Pabu's restaurants while looking out onto the sea.
"Hunter?" You say.
Hunter looks over at you. "Yeah?"
"Thank you for letting us stay for a few days." You tell him.
He sips his caf and smiles. "Of course. I know Omega's having fun here, and it's a good place to lay low."
You nod in agreement. "What's our plan for today?"
Hunter pauses for a moment. "I was thinking we could help repair some of the homes and property that were damaged.
You look over the balcony where you and Hunter are sitting and see that Wrecker and Crosshair are already helping move debris away from the homes.
"Sounds good to me." You say.
Hunter gestures for the waiter to come over so you can pay for breakfast. He comes over to you two.
He smiles when he sees you both. He turns to Hunter and asks, "You two don't look like you're from around here. Are you on your honeymoon?"
Hunter blushes. "Oh, no. We're just here to stay for a couple days."
"I see. Well, even if you aren't here for a honeymoon, it's a very nice place." He continues.
You take out some credits and hand them to him, along with a few extra for a tip. He smiles gratefully.
You and Hunter meet up with Shep Hazard, the mayor of Pabu, to ask what you can do to help.
"Hunter, Y/N! What can I do for you?" He greets you.
"What can we do to help?" Hunter asks.
Shep pauses for a moment and looks over at Wrecker. "You two can start by helping to move some of the debris like your friends over there are doing." He points to some different buildings.
"Thank you. We'll get started on it." You say, making your way to one of the buildings with Hunter.
The home you walk over to has debris that has caved in the roof. Some of it is in a hard to reach spot, but you believe that if you use the Force you can pull it out.
Hunter turns on his comm-link. "Echo, Tech, where are you?"
You hear a beep as Echo responds. "Tech and I are rebuilding some of the homes."
"Alright. Y/N and I are getting some debris off of the homes." Hunter informs him.
He puts away his comm-link and looks up at the top of the roof.
"I'm not sure if I can reach that. We may need to get some help." Hunter admits.
You smile and Force-jump onto the roof. "I got this." You hold out your hand and use the Force to pull out a big chunk of debris from the roof.
Hunter smiles. "Show-off."
"Oh, please." You laugh. "Remember the time you and I got lost in a forest and you refused help from the squad so you could brag about your tracking skills?"
Hunter is a little taken aback. "Well, I- there was a reason. They were busy."
You carefully hop down from the roof. "I'm just messing with you. Now c'mon, let's go to the next building."
This time, Hunter is able to help you move the pieces of debris from the inside of the house. Hunter sighs as part of the house starts to crumble as he removes a piece of rubble.
"It's alright." You reassure him. "Our job is only to remove the debris. Tech and Echo will help rebuild it."
He sets the piece of debris to the side of the house. "I just feel bad, but you're right."
"Every bit of help we can offer counts." You add.
The next building you two go to is much bigger. It looks like some sort of restaurant. It's right by the sea, so you can understand why the damage was so severe. There's so much damage and rubble that it's almost overwhelming.
"I don't know where we should start." You say, turning towards Hunter.
He takes a little piece of debris, most likely weighing only a few pounds, and sets it in a pile nearby. "One step at a time."
You and Hunter start with the small pieces and work your way up. You begin to get tired. You see Hunter wipe some sweat off his face.
"Should we take a break? We've been doing this for 2 hours, probably." He asks.
"Yeah. That sounds nice." You say.
You've been using the Force to help you lift the rubble, and it's getting tiring. You sit down next to Hunter on a bench near where you two have been working. He takes his water canteen off his belt and offers you some. The water is fairly warm from being out in the sun, but it's still nice. He takes a sip and leans his head over the back of the bench, closing his eyes. Omega walks over to you two. She's with her new friend.
"Anything I can do?" She asks.
"Nope. Hunter and I are just taking a break. You could go ask Tech and Echo. What they're doing is probably a lot more interesting than just lifting debris out of the way like us and Wrecker." You say.
She nods and walks away, searching for Tech and Echo.
"I think she's really liking it here." You say.
"Yeah. I think so too." Hunter opens his eyes and looks at you. "Are you enjoying it too?"
"Of course. It's beautiful here. It's nice to know I'm helping the island, even if it is tiring." You smile.
"I feel the same way." Hunter says.
You two resume working on the building. It takes 10 more minutes or so to finish getting the debris out. Shep finds you two and approaches you.
"Thank you for your help. We truly appreciate it." He says.
"I just hope we aren't hurting the buildings more than helping them in the process. Sometimes when we take a chunk of rubble out, some of the building ends up collapsing." Hunter tells him.
"Don't worry." Shep smiles. "That's how it is when the buildings are damaged this much. They're old, it was probably time for them to be rebuilt anyway."
"If you say so." Hunter says, still feeling a little guilty.
"It looks like you've finished working on all the buildings I've told you to work on. I don't have anything else for you to do." Shep tells you two.
"We'll go find the rest of the squad." You say.
You and Hunter walk around Pabu for a while, taking in the beautiful views of the sea. He takes your hand and smiles. You haven't gone for a peaceful walk like this in a while.
You see Wrecker and Crosshair have already found Tech, Echo, and Omega. Tech is busy calculating the measurements for the homes on his datapad while Echo works on placing new stone around the foundation of the home. Omega helps Wrecker and Crosshair gather materials.
"Hi!" Omega grins. You're surprised how happy she is while helping to move all of the materials.
"Hey, Omega." You greet her.
"Anything we can do to help?" Hunter asks.
"Not at the moment. We've got it covered." Tech tells you two.
"Go relax with your girlfriend, Hunter." Wrecker says to Hunter.
"I think I know a place." Hunter says, looking at you.
Hunter takes you to a spot by the ocean that has shade from the trees above you. He brings you some sort of cold drink.
"What's this?" You ask.
"One of their typical drinks here on the island. Don't worry, it won't get you drunk or anything. It looked good when they told me the ingredients." He explains.
You take a sip of it. It's unlike anything you've ever tasted before (in a good way). You assume that it's make with fruits native to the island.
"Good choice." You say.
"I'm glad you like it." He responds.
You pause for a moment and enjoy your drink. "I feel bad that we aren't helping them."
"It's alright, I promise. Tech told us we could relax. If the rest of the squad needs anything, we'll go help." Hunter says.
"I guess you're right." You say, taking another sip of your drink.
"Are you feeling less tired after taking a break?" Hunter asks. You can tell that he really does care about you.
"Yeah. I feel a lot better." You say.
"I wish we could just stay here forever." Hunter sighs.
"Me too. Even though we can't, I'll follow you wherever we need to go."
"You're perfect, Y/N. I love you." Hunter says.
You laugh. "I'm not anywhere close to perfect, but I love you too."
