The Bounty

Summary: You and Hunter work with Fennec Shand to catch a bounty for some intel.

     It wasn't your idea to work with Fennec Shand. You were clear that you didn't want to work with her, given what you know about her history. She used to interfere with missions the Jedi would go on during the Clone War, costing you and your squadrons precious time that could've been used to help defeat the Separatists. You also know that she kidnapped Omega, so you were surprised when Hunter seemed to agree so quickly with the idea.

"Y/N and I will meet Fennec here." Hunter explains, pointing to a part of the city on the hologram of Pantora.

"What about the rest of us?" Wrecker asks, a bit of sadness in his voice.

"We can't have the entire squad with us- not for this mission." Hunter says.

You pat Wrecker on the back lightly to comfort him, then return to where you were before.

"We will be monitoring your comms channels." Tech states.

You shake your head. "As much as we'd like that, Fennec said we have to go dark."

Hunter continues with his briefing. "Once we're done, we'll turn on our comms again if possible and have the rest of you meet us at the rendezvous point. Understood?"

Everyone else nods their heads, and you and Hunter go to his room to get ready.

     You smile as you put your lightsaber on your belt, noticing the engagement ring on your left ring finger. You wish you didn't have to take it off, but you'd hate to lose it in the middle of a fight. You put it in a safe place where it won't get lost and wait for Hunter to put on his armor. Once he's done doing that, you two walk to the main area of the Marauder. 

"We'll be landing soon." Tech tells you two, lowering the ship into the docking bay.

Once he lands the ship, you and Hunter wave to everyone else and exit to go meet Fennec Shand. You walk out of the docking bay quickly. You want to get this mission over with since you have a bad feeling about this.

Hunter looks over at you as you two walk together. "Are you okay?"

You nod. "Just... feeling nervous about this mission. I don't really trust Fennec."

"I'm not saying I trust her either, but we need this intel for Echo."

"I know."

Hunter gives you a reassuring smile. "It'll be okay. I promise."

     You see Fennec Shand in the distance as you approach the place that you all agreed to meet. She turns towards you and Hunter, her arms crossed, waiting. You approach her and can finally see her clearly. You recognize her from multiple events that have happened in the past. But does she recognize you?

Fennec Shand narrows her eyes at you through the slit in her helmet, almost like she's silently observing you. "You're Y/N L/N. I remember you from the Clone War." 

You nod. Fennec then looks over to Hunter and laughs slightly.

"You know, I wasn't expecting a clone and a Jedi to work together."

"Well, I'm not a typical clone." Hunter responds. 

Fennec Shand pulls out a puck that creates a hologram of the bounty you're helping her catch. The bounty is a woman with tan skin and cinnamon brown hair. 

"Her name is Izara Stellan. She's been smuggling spice off of Pantora."

"And why do you need our help?" You ask.

You can see Fennec glaring at you. "Do you want this intel or not?"

You can't argue with her, so you and Hunter follow her.

     Fennec Shand seems to be leading you and Hunter to a part of Pantora that you've never been been to before. You start to see less people, hear less music, until the only sound that breaks the eerie silence of the dark alleyways is the sound of you three walking. You notice Hunter put his hand over the holster of his blaster.

"Where are we going?" He asks.

"Relax, clone. We'll be there soon." Fennec tells him.

Eventually, Fennec stops in front of a flickering lighted sign that's barely hanging on to the chains it's attached to. It reads, 'Nexus' with an arrow pointing left. Fennec gestures for you and Hunter to follow her as she walks left. You do as she asks of you and follow her down the stairs. You walk through the door she leads you and Hunter through and see that you're now in what seems to be a nightclub.

"Be ready. She should be here." Fennec says over the loud music.

You look around the nightclub. It's not particularly big, but it's not small, either. You can almost feel the music playing shaking your bones from how loud it is. You feel overwhelmed, and you can't even imagine how overwhelmed Hunter must be feeling. Fennec pushes past the various groups of people in the nightclub to go to the bar. You and Hunter sit down next to her. Looking past Fennec, you can see the woman you're looking for a few seats down. 

"There she is." You whisper.

"I'll do the talking." Fennec states.

"No, no, no. You-" Hunter begins.

Fennec rolls her eyes. "It'll be fine. Relax."

Hunter stops talking and you and him walk with Fennec to the bounty.

     Fennec slides the hologram of the woman over to her. The woman looks up at you three and gasps. 

"Izara Stellan?" Fennec asks.

"Dank farrik..." Izara mutters.

"You're coming with us." Hunter says.

You watch as Izara Stellan quickly begins to try and escape from you three. Luckily, you all noticed it soon enough to run after her and have a chance of getting her. She runs out into the alleyway, and it's now pitch black. You can hear the sound of her breathing until it stops. 

"She's hiding. Y/N, go right. I'll go left. Fennec, go straight." 

You take a right turn and pull out your lightsaber to give yourself some light in the dark alley. As you turn around another corner, you feel someone choking you from behind. After you struggle for a moment, you're able to break free. You turn around and see Izara standing in front of you. 

"I found her!" You shout. 

Izara begins to run away again, you close behind her. You start to lose her, though, and for a moment you think you've lost her until you see Hunter and Fennec cornering her from the other way. The three of you surround her, pointing your weapons at her.

"Fine, fine. You got me." Izara Stellan sighs, putting her hands up. 

Fennec Shand puts some handcuffs on the bounty and the three of you walk to the rendezvous point.

     After signaling for the rest of the squad to come pick you and Hunter up, they finally arrive. Before you get on the ship, Hunter needs to ask Fennec about the intel.

"We did our part. We need that intel." 

Fennec pauses for a moment before speaking. "Be patient. Give me a week, and I'll give you the information."

"You'd better tell us that intel. If you don't, we'll find you." Hunter warns her.

Fennec laughs. "Yeah. Good luck with that."

Before Hunter can say another word, Fennec is already walking away. You two get on the ship to join the others.

"Nice job. You did good out there." Hunter smiles. "I can't believe I'm this lucky to have you."

You smile back at him. "I could say the same."
